.what if? tell me when God stops slavery rape, and mass murders then tell me he is not an awful person because for him to just let it go by and even support or approve of it is sick and insane

God is not a person. Many believers don't interpret the bible the same way as fundamentalists do. Our view of God is totally different. So, this awful' person' God is alien to me.

No. I am a scientist, and go where the evidence leads. If it leads to a nasty god, or a good one, or none at all, it does not matter to me. The evidence is persuasive that there is no such thing. See:

Nope.
Unless there was substantial, testable evidence to show that there is such thing as "god," I would not believe in one. Good god, bad god, indifferent god -- makes no difference. No evidence, no god. :)

When he's bad, I don't believe in him because he's supposed to be good. When he's good, I don't believe in him because life isn't all good. A do-nothing god might be more believable, but only if the bible didn't exist and I hadn't already found a better explanation.

No. When will you folks get it? We don't believe. We observe and study evidence. I've seen no evidence that god is or is not an awful person because I've seen no evidence of gods exsistance. Why can't you folks understand that simple concept?

no not at all.
i as brought up as a catholic, and didnt think 'he' was awful - but by the age of ten it just seemed not right - it didnt feel comfortable for me - i do not dislike the story or the characters in it - i just dont believe in it or him
