Because if there wasn't who made you to be here and complain.
I have Jesus in my heart and know He is with me. I have been through too much for one human not to have God helping me, if you only knew.
What makes you think there isn't???

Originally I didn't. Life would be so much easier and less complicated if there were no God. In the end, I had to conclude that there was a God, not only because I see the evidences of Him that He displays for all who will to see, but because I also see the evidence of man's depravity, and everyone seems to be appalled at it. Where can this universal abhorrence of depravity come from if not from God? If there's no God, how do we have a knowledge of right and wrong, since without Him there is neither? And why does it matter to us if there's no God to whom we will have to answer? It is insufficient to say it is better to do good, because who makes that determination and based upon what if there's no God? And if evolution is true, why do all men have this knowledge, and why does no other animal have it?

This doesn't directly answer your question, but falling in love made me believe that god could in fact exist. Fortunately, I'm agnostic, so there was no threat to my beliefs there. But I'd never had such a deep, spiritual connection with someone like I do my fiance. And it is the love we share for each other that makes me believe god could exist. It's the only part of my life that prompted that belief.

As far as Christianity is concerned, I don't doubt that Christ lived. With regard to any religion, though, in my opinion religion is myth, wishful thinking, fear of death, guru worship topped off with a heaping helping of superstition, an age-old human need to believe in gods, or if you want to be monotheistic about it, in a god, with a total disregard for evolution. A Dark Age brainwash driven by those that would fool the gullible in exchange for money and power, that has for too long caused misery and despair, arrogance, and the fervid misguided disingenuous belief that one will "get" something after they die, with a total lack of understanding of what brain dead actually implies.

Same reason a person wants to believe there is no God. But the funny thing is, it doesn't matter what we believe. It doesn't change who we are, how we got here, or where we are going.
After DNA was discovered, it makes it impossible to believe in chance (evolution). Someone (God?) put a lot of thought and planning into creating the universe with such precision.

An extension of the desire for a good father?
A desire for the world to have simple answers?
The good feelings that come with the sense of social "belonging"?
None of these, of course, settle the issue of whether there is a God, but it's clear which way the wish-fulfillment presses.

Freq told me he was attracted to Christianity because when he died he didn't just want that to be the end. And that he wanted to fit in.
And some people need the emotional support of an imaginary big Brother to make them feel whole. They're not emotionally stable on their own.

when they are in trouble and can't fix it themselves, they look for something more powerful to help. my troubles always bring me closer to God, and though i hate admitting i pray only when i need help, (which means i only want thim to help me, and i don't repay him with anything) it's the basic way with most people..

I don't get it either.
I've tried I really have....I just don't get it. No matter what anyone says, it just makes NO sense what so ever. It's circular reasoning.
