1080p is on its way to second fiddle with the new high res 1600ish.

Ok good price drops. When? Eta?

What about the Response Times dropping to 2ms -- or is this partial to physics and marketing?

1600, and to a lesser extent 1400, aren't coming out anytime soon as resolutions. Those are still in the beginning stages of development and it will be many years before they are starting to be produced.

Prices usually drop around September when manufacturers start to bring out their new lines. some have already started.

As far as response times, I believe plasma already has one of about 2ms or lower, but LCDs...well, hopefully by 2009 they will have been able to lower them but I don't think it's going to happen for 2008.

One way to reduce motion-blur in LCDs is to move to 120 Hz panels. (Display at 120 Hz vs 60 Hz)
There are already a few models and more are coming in 2008.
