flooding your mind, spininng out of control....a multitude of thoughts that keep racing, coming one after the other.....
thought 1.............thought 2...............thought 3......thought 4.........thought 5............thoought 6.....thought 7.........thought 7....thought 8........thought 9....thought 10....etc etc etc.....on and on and on and on and on......
the way it happens, which is everyday, it leaves me muddled and confused......forgetting things...feeling disorientated..disorganised.
i think of a thought and while i hold that thought, more thoughts come flooding through, racing.thought 2...thought 3 thought 4...thought 5...then, i forget the original thought unable to hold and remember it, buried underneath the flood of persistant oncoming thoughts....
its a nightmare to live with.. i have borderline pd, and experience extreme lows, but this symptom is one of the worst.
has anyone experienced it or no what im talking about?
and know how to live easier with it? im 30 now

At times my fingers can not type fast enough, my mind is running at a 9 or 10 where my fingers are going at a 2. What you do is sit down and think one thought, one idea and let no other idea in. When you have finished with thought then start another. You control your mind, I can on tell you how to do it. Now do it.

Focus.... That is the only way to stop the thoughts from over riding your first thought. The easy part is to say that, the hard part is to put it into action. Just like The movie What About Bob, (and I know its cheesy) but it sounds like you need to take a vacation from your problems. What I mean by that is you need to find something you can focus on for maybe an hour or 30 minutes at the least to keep your mind occupied. For example, I found the guitar. When I felt like my head was going to explode because there was just too much going on in there, I would sit down and play. After about 15 minutes, I would start to really get into it. Before I would know it and hour would pass, and all of that anxiety and pent up energy has been released. The key think to look for is how are you personally going to release all of that energy. Physical labor is one of the easiest ways to relax the mind. When I was a painter, I could let those thoughts flow freely in and out of my head and it was very therapeutic. Go see the therapist and release some energy. You should feel an almost instant change.

I have never experienced the racing & spinning thoughts or obsessive worries & insecurities, but I have suffered with anxieties & depression in the past. I too had a lot going on in my life & didn't know how to deal with it all. I saw my family doctor & told him what was going on, so he prescribed Lexapro (10 mg) for me to take daily, without fail, & that I did. Within a few days, to my surprise, I began feeling sooooo much better, both mentally & physically. The doctor suspected that the serotonin levels in my brain were extremely low, & that's why I was going through a really rough time. I got into therapy as well, & felt like a new person. I wish you all the best & I'm sure that once you get into therapy, you'll feel better. I would ask your family doctor about Lexapro. It doesn't make you feel like a zombie either. One word of advice in closing. Don't waste your time worrying about the things you have no control over. That's wasted energy that will wear you out. Focus on the things you can change & give yourself time to do so.

Yes this "condition" is a combination of intelligence and being too hard on yourself. I use to do this constantly, it drove me nuts, I didn't think it was even able to be changed. It can be solved if you learn how to forgive and accept yourself. Realizing you are human and everyone makes stupid mistakes all the time and relaxing because you have very high expectations of yourself, in fact they are so high they are impossible. I was always too hard on myself with ridiculous expectations too, but that was getting myself into too much trouble. I would and still do try so hard I mess everything up my worst one is stressing so much about waking up on time for work that I have trouble falling asleep which of course makes me too tired to wake up, sleep through the alarm and has gotten me fired from several jobs. Everything you do you have to believe in yourself and feel you can do whatever you want. It is very common for a smart person to be a complete failure, because they are a victum of their own self judgment and are tring too hard. Forgive yourself for everything you do, mistakes are the biggest teachers in life try to learn and even enjoy your mistakes, now you have the knowlege and have grown as a person. This will also empower you and help you later, now go fall on your face, what did you learn? I bet you wont do that again. Everyone falls especially at first, in fact you have to fall inorder to grow to the next stage of your life. Not falling keeps you in the same spot and you wont be able to enjoy the benefits of these lessons.

You need something to occupy you....that is the main thing...not about you., but something that you find enjoyable..and stop worrying so much about everything...you repeat the same things over and over every day..and I am not saying that to be cruel to you,..it is sad to see how frustrated you are, ..and I say that, NOT giving you pity, but empathy...I hate to see anyone suffering mentally...you need to find a job, or something to fill the void in your life, that allows you to continue to relive, and rethink the same things, over and over day after day....and I say that with fondness and kindness...you just really have to pull yourself up by the bootstraps,...and get going

I have a thought disorder and spinning and disorganized thoughts really make it hard for me to function sometimes. Seroquel seems to help me sometimes and having someone to go to that you are close to and comfortable with can also help. Some people like to have a relaxation time, some like to talk with God or/and a therapist or loved one. Some people find reading books and learning helpful. I hope you find something that works for you. Good luck!

You are on the right track. Just be sure to keep every appointment. Start writing things down so you are less likely to forget them. It helps wonders. I have notes everywhere.
