Where I come from, that many kids is natural and expected. She probably doesn't use anything but nature and God, and the twins are somewhere in the family's genes. If she and her husband are happy, I say go for it!

I would assume it is naturally and that she just gets pregnant very, very easily. I heard that she homeschools all of the children, I just wonder what the husband does to be able to afford 17 kids! I have a hard enough time trying to imagine having one child let alone over a dozen. I want to say having that many children is irresponsible but I don't know enough about the family to really judge. I only hope all of the children are well cared for.

If it works for them, fine. I personally wouldn't do it but to each his own, right? Just as long as they are self supporting with no state or federal aid help. Then I have no problem with it.
That being said, I still think they're a little nutty. I actually watched their Discovery special - it was like a train wreck you couldn't turn away from. It stated that Mrs. Duggar has been pregnant for 10.5 years of her life! I just don't get it. Clearly the poor kids live in a bubble - I doubt any of them know how the real world works - home schooling, a million siblings, mullets.... I have an issue with them relying on the older kids to help out. Sorry lady. But if you and your hubby decided to keep having children, they are yours to deal with - lay off the older ones. Whether or not she used meds to get pregnant is irrelevant. What she really needs is birth control.

I've seen the "freak" show on TLC a few times when there was nothing better on tv. What I wanna know is "does the father work? what kinda job allows for medical coverage for 17 children? My best guess is that this entire family's existence is fueled by charity- the house, donated labor, appliances, materials, etc. Obviously, if neither of them work, their church pays the bills. Donated clothing, school supplies. If they really had to support 17 kids- they would've stopped long ago.

I do think she is doing it naturally. She just happens to be particularly fertile. I don't think 2 sets of twins is that unusual out of that many children. I do, however, think they are nuts.

I doubt she is using medication. Their particular religious views would make that quite hypocritical.

I think that they are crazy. But I also think that it's kind of neat how they want so many kids. I don't think she takes drugs, I just think they like screwing like rabbits. Nothing wrong with that. God bless them.

I am totally disgusted by them. We're not in the baby boomer generation anymore. They're nasty!
