Not a good idea to go to the Religion section and ask to not get a religious answer. Whatever.
I'm Pro-Choice and Pro-Life. I like both of those. The terms should be "Pro-Abortion" and "Anti-Abortion." That way people will easily know what the **** we're talking about about.
I'm Pro-Abortion, the term "Illegal Underground Abortion House" doesn't appeal to me.
Stem Cells- A big yes. Every way they can do it, I don't care. Some people have lost control of their bodies from accidents completely out of their control. If I lost my body (Broken spinal cord, loss of limbs), I would want there to be some way to get it back

Pro lifers believe that life begins at conception.
Pro Choicers believe that life begins at birth, or at some place in between.
If, as you suggest, all that an abortion is doing is removing some cells, blast cyst as you call it, why do men ever have to pay child support? Think about it, if life does not begin at conception, then all the father did was help create a blast cyst, not a Child. According to this reasoning, the Mother created the Child by herself by electing to create life from the cells. With this argument, why would Men is expected to help support a child that they did not create?
Now, back to your question, I don't think you can legislate against a woman that was raped. It just is not going to happen.
Next question is tougher, because "Long lasting negative physical and mental effects" on the mother could be defined as stretch marks or anything by "doctors" and thus impossible to define.
Stem Cells, it is not about pain, (except in the 2nd. and 3rd. trimester, another subject) it is about when life begins. If you believe that it begins in the 3rd. month or the 5th. Month, you would have no problem with killing the child because you do not look at as a Child. Again, we believe that life begins at conception, so to us it is killing a child.
The fact that they are killing them anyway, does not justify using their parts, and only perpetuates more abortion. To us, the better use would be to let them be born, and give them some real dignity.
One other point, many people think that the Catholic Church is against stem cell Research, we are NOT, we are just against killing children (in our opinion) to harvest their parts. Umbilical Cord and adult stem cell research is fine with us; virtually all of the useable cells have come from these "approved" sources anyway, so it really is a mute point.
Good Guestion.

An early blastocyst -> fetus stage does not feel any pain as it does not have a nervous system, hence you are not causing it any physical pain, also it only has the beginning of a brain, hence will not show any neurological activity making it for all sense and purpose brain-dead. (its not thinking yet)
MY ARGUMENT IS FOR THIS: Is in exsistance and there ready to form into a baby. If it was nothing, then it wouldn't be there and growing for a purpose! God put it there, so his decisions were to create a baby!

I unquestionably have a son, and that i comprehend how surprising being a mom is and that i'm professional-decision for many diverse motives. notwithstanding i do no longer think of that 2nd trimester abortions would desire to be completed, except there's a severe medical situation residing with the mummy or Fetus. I even have self belief that we also have a severe would desire to added stem cellular analyze. human beings will constantly hesitate while some new style of technology is tried. i'm hoping that once different international locations start up making substantial discoveries with using stem cellular analyze, the united states of a will ultimately awaken and get on the comparable web site. we've US knowledgeable docs attempting to added the analyze which will exchange the destiny, shifting to international locations the place severe analyze is being completed. those are the docs we would desire to maintain. no longer the docs who're basically interior the occupation to make funds. For the non secular, i'd such as you to describe to me the place the soul comes from. while do you think of that it starts off. Is it carried interior the sperm? Is it formed while it is going interior the egg? perchance i'd desire to extra appropriate comprehend the place you come from. possibly somebody answering this question will clean it up for me. :o) i'm agnostic... and would proceed my finished existence finding for my very own reality. Be properly!

What makes you think that a woman who has been raped is better off with a dead child than a living one? That, in itself, is sure to cause more mental and emotional suffering. Besides, the developing child is not the aggressor, the rapist is, why punish the child by denying it the possibility of life.
I wonder if you have ever actually talked to a woman who was raped and had the baby? You would find it most interesting since it does not support the common presumption. These women love their children and find that they have helped them deal with the trauma, not added to it.

I'm all about pro-choice because of the reasons you just said. And as for stem-cell, I am behind it every step of the way, as well as cloning, now I heard the argument that says, "God doesn't want us to play God." Well then why did he give us the knowledge to do this then? And for those who want to outlaw abortion, let me ask them this, would you rather have a female who (if she wants to have one) will have an abortion no matter what, go to a clinic and have the safest way possible to remove the fetus, or for her to go to a back ally doctor, or do it herself by throwing herself down the stairs, or using a metal coat hanger and killing it (I asked that same thing to my High School president nominees, and everyone laughed..shows how heartless they are now isn't it?) Which would Christians have? Safe, clean environment for a woman who doesn't want her child for whatever her reasons are, or a woman who could possible die because of back ally surgeons? And think of it this way for cloning, we could solve world hunger in an instant, oh and we've already been cloning for centuries, we clone with plants, so guess that means that's against God too huh?

The number one thing that those who oppose the use of stem cells don't understand is that the stem cells are taken from fertility clinics. A number of these (pre-) embryos are created to make a woman pregnant. Those that aren't used are thrown away. These that are thrown away are the ones that can be used instead for stem cell research. There are no devious scientists sitting in some lab cloning armies of little automaton babies to take over the world.
It seems there is a deliberate misinformation campaign going on with regards to this fact. Is this another manifestation of the wedge theory--misinformation to create doubt?

There is no "cut-off" point - all info is intact right
from the start! Even I am a "potenital life"!
Non-embryonic stem cell research
is JUST as promising if not more promising!
Using embryonic stem cells is tampering
with life and will just lead to more and more
tampering! I don't want this "small snow ball"
to start rolling down the mountain!"

Though I am a practicing Catholic, I will honor your request to "stay away from religious answers."
My opinion that abortion is murder isn't just based on my religion -- it's also based on common sense and simple biology. Human life begins once conception begins -- it cannot begin anywhere else. This is Biology 101.
Even if a fetus cannot feel pain (which is doubtful, to say the least), it's irrelevant. The issue here is not causation of pain -- the issue here is the unjustified killing of human life.
As for stem cell research: I'm all in favor of it, provided that it's of the adult stem cell variety.
This isn't just out of religious conviction -- it's also out of scientific fact. And the facts tell us that adult stem cell research has proven to be very beneficial, while fetal stem cell research has not led to a single cure or advance for anything.

lets take it for what it is.
pro life is not "pro life" they are "anti-abortion". especially since i would be willing to bet you find a strong corrolation between these people and those who support the death penalty.
pro choice kind of fits a bit more, because they are not "pro-abortion" meaning they would approve of every child bieng aborted, they support a woman bieng able to make a choice about a fetus.
personally I support stem cell research, human cloning (so long as it is not michael moore- we have too many of him already), and teenage abortions- meaning the parent can abort a child well after they are born up until they become a legal adult.
