I would get a free education, oh wait I am. Thank you government for the GI Bill. Another question, what would happen if people actually used the education that was given to them instead of complaining about it. I mean a book is a book. My science book was a little beat up and old, but had the same text inside as a brand new one. Parents need to monitor there children and help them learn outside of school. A teacher getting paid 19,000 a year should be able to teach as well as a teacher paid 100,000 a year. You need to look at the people involved teaching the children and the parents. I can get a book at the book store for $25 and teach my child what is in the book for free. People just use the excuse that they don't have the money, instead of taking what they have and using it to its full potential. I assume by the tone of your question, you volunteer your time at the school and donate supplies???

How many trillions are spent in the US, on education? I don't really know and I bet you don't. Most of that money has gone down the drain.
You have the erroneous assumption that there will be better results if more money is spent. Wrong.
Some of the school districts that spend the most on education have the poorest results. People like me are already fed up with the way money is wasted on education. I will get more irate if more money is spent.

Sorry I just cannot stand this guy. He is always here trying to correct people.

Considering the amount of free programs/money that have been handed out to every minority group in this country... I'm gonna go out on a limb and say "Not a darn thing"! They'll still be dealing drugs and painting graffity in their own hood.
Education is not always the key. People have to want to learn before you can shove an education down their throat.

Are you kidding? It's a democratic tradition to leave out the educators. I went 6 years to college just to get disappointed at the money I'd be making by teaching little brats who would grow up to make 5 times more than I ever could.

The problem isn't funding, it's what the schools do with the funds. Throwing more money at the educational system probably isn't going to make it any better. Holding our educators to higher standards would probably make more of a difference.

You could properly spell, H-A-P-P-E-N.
Sandy... take a pill and clean up your POTTY MOUTH. Throwing more money at education is not gonna work. Waste of time and efford. Hundreds of millions tossed at schools by the government and Johnny still cant read. WHY?
Because we've tied the hands of teachers with stupid federal standards. PC politicos who no NOTHING about anything except how to screw things up permanently. Sure are alot of Kool aid drinkers answering this one. Probly none of them a teacher.

You'll get more people educated and that will increase your human capital investment and as well as it will lead to your country developing more.I wish your president had studied his economics right. It would have saved so many lives.

We would have better teachers, and more supplies. The students would probably learn alot more. But even so, it would only be the major states that would be given this.
