Hey, it's only a date at this point not a serious relationship. And even if you two end up getting serious, it's not a huge age gap. You know that nobody would every question a 46 yr old guy going out with a 36 yr old woman -- why should this be any different? Go out, have fun, and don't sweat the small stuff. If it works, great. If it doesn't work because he's too immature, boring or whatever, don't go out again! Simple.

If you really like him, and it seems you do or else why ask the question?, then age should not matter. As long as you are yourself and you stay true to that, then you will be fine. Think of some of the happiest couples out there. They are not the same age, in fact many are not. As long as there is chemistry there and you share common interests then you will be good.
If you think that he will have a problem with dating you because of the age gap, then maybe you should rethink wanting to date him. I mean, if you fear how he will act then what is the point? Just tell him and see how he reacts. If it is a problem for him, then he will make sure you know. And if it is then screw him!!! There are more fish in the sea. 40 is the new 20...so you are 26!!!
Don't think of age as a number...how old do you feel? That is the question. If you can keep up with him, then rock on!!!

I don't think age matters for him. He knows that you're older and some younger men are attracted to older women. When I was 23 I date a woman that was 33. In all the relationships I've had, that one was the best of all.
The age gap is always better. My rule of thumb is + or - 4 years apart. It always works better. The relationships that I've had when we were the same age always ended disastrously.
If I was you, go for it. You'll enjoy his youthfulness and he will honor your gracefulness.

I agree that age is pretty much just a number. My sister is 21 and she is engaged to a 48 year old. However, I think society is more accepting of it when the man is older. Ten years is not a big deal, but you should tell him, and hopefully he will not have a problem with it....GOOD LUCK

Seriously, if you still look good and can handle your own, go for it. Most guys actually like the women being older now. Have you ever heard of the term Cougar? It's actually a compliment. 10 years is nothing. Have fun!

Age ain't nothing but a number. My hubby is 13 years older than me, nobody has a problem with it. Age doesn't matter anymore. Who makes you happy is who makes you happy. Regardless of age or anything else.

Compatability has little to do with age, especially once you're past your early 20's...I'd say give him a shot and go in with an open mind. You're only shorting yourself if you don't!

Watch the show "Age of Love" on NBC. It's a pretty good show for people preoccupied with this stuff.
