As long as you enjoy it, that's what matters. Make sure after anal sex that he either wears a condom/takes one off if you have vaginal intercourse after, to avoid infection (fecal matter in your reproductive system is actually pretty dangerous for you) and you use lube to make sure he glides in and out. (The friction of anal sex is actually pretty hard on the rectal walls, and can cause ripping and bleeding.) Also, regular anal sex does mean a relaxing of anal muscles, which later on can mean a lot of problems for you. (Feel like wearing diapers when your 60?)
My thing with anal sex is that if he can bugger your "exit only" hole, why can't you be allowed to do the same for him? Women can't come via anal sex - there are no nerve endings in the rectum - so it's safe to say it's an optional choice. Anal sex for men (something in their hole, not them being in yours), believe it or not, is pleasurable because stimulation of the prostate arouses. Honestly! Next time you go down on him, insert your finger into his anus and feel for a small nub. He'll likely go off like a rocket. Then take it from there.
I commend you on keeping your sex life interesting after 13 years! Well done.

Anal tissue is very delicate stuff, and unlike the vagina, it doesn't produce its own lubrication, so it's extremely easy to injure. My guess is that your anal tissue got somewhat torn when you and your husband had anal sex. This is somewhat common, especially if your hubby rushed into anal sex without using his fingers to loosen you up first. You should be fine, but if you experience any pain or discomfort in the next few days or if you continue to notice blood in the toilet when you use the bathroom, then you should definitely contact your doctor or health care provider ASAP. Although serious injuries due to anal sex are rare, they still occur, which is why any pain or prolonged bleeding should be examined by a doctor. My best advice is to hold off on more anal sex until your current bleeding is completely gone. When you resume anal sex, here are some recommendations to help prevent anal fissures in the future: Talk with your partner about the need for the inserter to go very slowly and gently, and the absolute requirement that your word is law: if you say stop, he stops. Use lots of water-based or silicone-based lube. If fingers are going to be inserted in your anus, fingernails need to be well trimmed, smooth, and clean. Some people like to start with a clipped nail finger in the anus, moved very slowly inside. When there's pain, stop and wait a moment and breathe. This will allow the internal anal sphincter to relax. Once the discomfort stops, continue. If a finger is comfortable, you can proceed with other sex toys or a penis. If you use a dildo, make sure it's soft and flexible, not stiff. This will help protect you against colonic perforation. If you're still having pain with anal penetration, you may want to see your health care provider about using rectal dilators. These are a set of instruments that get progressively larger. You begin by inserting the smallest-diameter dilator in your anus. When this is completely comfortable, you can move on to the next size, and on through the largest size. Your provider can also help you plan a safe and reasonable schedule of progressing through the different sizes. Consider receiving anal sex face down; this can decrease anal pressure. I hope that helped!

That isn't some thing that I would ever consider allowing a man to do to me, as far as I'm concerned it's an exit only situation for me. No offense intended towards you or your husband, but I would seriously be questioning my man's sexual orientation if he were ever wanting to go there.
There could be some serious health risks for both of you, especially if he were ever to have an affair and then come home to you and want to engage in anal sex. The risk of Aids increases with anal sex, due to the risk of anal fissures where bleeding may occur.
Possible things that can happen to you due to having anal sex are as follows, just some things that you may wish to be aware of.
The rectum can become obstructed as a result of a narrowing caused by Granuloma Inguinale, a sexually transmitted disease. Also, similar symptoms may result from the injury to the rectum due to anal intercourse.
You can also get anal fissures which are tears in the lining
of the anus. And there is a possibility of getting anal stenosis of the anus, that is where the anus is too narrow to allow for normal passage of feces. This can result from scarring, due to anal intercourse where anal fissures have developed.
But hey what ever turns your crank, spins your wheels and flips your pancake, that's between you and your husband.
Best wishes for both of you.

I believe that it is a bad idea for health reasons. Personally, my biggest concern is small tears in the area leave openings for bacteria to enter the blood stream when you use the bathroom, after the fact. Due to the area, any kind of cut or tear is much more likely to get infected and is slower to heal. Also, your lower intestine is made to have solids travel 1 way only, I am unsure of the possible issues with pushing things back "up stream". If you are careful and get an enema before hand and keep things very clean, then enjoy. Ultimately it is your choice and your choice alone. If you choose to, NEVER go from anal sex directly to vaginal sex, the transfer of bacteria is very bad. What ever you choose... Have fun!

It's up to you , not someone else to tell you what you like. If you want reassurance that it's ok to have anal sex, it is, as long as you enjoy it. I have had many relationships and some have requested it, some have tried and not been able to do it, and some have never asked or attempted it and probably didn't want to. Any sexual act should be enjoyable to both parties and if it is, then have fun with it.

Personally, I wouldn't try it. Both for all of the reasons that other people have listed here and also for the fact that it's "exit only". It seems like it would damage the body if parts of it were used for things they weren't meant to be used for.

The only concern there is really with anal sex is cross contamination if you have anal sex and then they guy has sex with you vaginally. You can get an infection if he has not cleaned himself off really good.

I like it myself but it has been difficult finding a woman that enjoys it. Woman are concerned about injury, tearing, disease and such, as well they should but like anything else done properly and with care (and lots of lubrication) there shouldnt be any problem. Now I found two women in the same week that like it. LOL
