If she is not covered by insurance they will do nothing. The other driver should have uninsured motorist coverage on their policy which means their insurance company will pay for the repairs, but they can sue your friend to recover their deductible. Your insurancemay raise your rates because you allowed an uninsured driver to drive your vehicle (poor judgement=higher premium)

Definitely a collision claim. The old lady didn't fall from the sky! That is just pure non sense. Your only chance at a comp claim would be by saying the the old lady did it purposely and it would be vandalism. It seems your main motivator is the deductible difference which is always the case. You picked the deductible and should re consider your thought process when your policy is up for renewal. You don't have a chance at a vandalism claim in my opinion. Also, you don't have a front quarter panel. It's called a fender. The quarter panels are in the rear. Lastly, if the damage is over your deductible, which sounds questionable but depends on the size and location of the dent in the fender, let your insurance fix it. Your insuarnce company will then seek reimbursement from the little old lady.

This was a valuable learning experience. Be thankful it was just a dent.

First off, since the car was being driven by person without insurance, your insurance is not going to pay for the dent. That will have to be paid for by your friend or by you. Ask the other driver to get estimates from a couple different body shops to be sure the price is reasonable. Figure on spending less than $ 10,000.00 to get it fixed.

Your friend may not be able to pay fair share, because she belongs in jail for this, and will have expenses associated with getting out of that mess.

There should have been a police report.
Your insurance company now knows that you let your car be driven illegally by someone without insurance.
Your insurance premiums may go up.

Bummer.

It depends on your policy. In a lot of cases, your insurance company will pay, and ask you for an operator exclusion form, or to list your friend on the policy, then surcharge you for the accident.

In SOME Cases, on some policies, the policy specifically won't cover any unlisted operators, ESPECIALLY if they live with you. If your friend is specifically not covered by your insurance, well, the other guy can come after YOU for the damages - and he'll win, and your policy won't pay.

You need to discuss this with your agent.

Ok, depends on your coverage. A lot of policies cover anyone who is driving your car. If it is a really small problem, and the other driver is reasonable, your friend could offer to cover the repairs, and nobody has to report it to the insurance.

Your friend has to pay the person to fix it.
Or their insurance will turn him in for not having insurance and he will get fined and be forced to buy expensive insurance and get an sr22.
Just fis the dent and keep it out of the insurance companies hands.

Your car insurance probably won't cover it. Don't try saying you were driving when it happened either, I know someone that did that and they are in ALOT of trouble for insurance fraud. Basically it's all on her, shes the one that did it!

If your car is insured, it is covered (as long as you did no sign an exclusion to keep her off the policy) as long as you gave her permission to drive the car.

If you have insurance contact them right away. The person you hit is sure to sue. She may or may not be covered by your insurance.
