I don't think it's right to "snatch them while they're young". I think if you absolutly NEED a religion, do some research, there are MANY different religions out there. These people on the movie were some of the most simple, ignorant, and close-minded people I have ever seen.

I haven't seen it but is it really representative? Are the film-makers actually trying to paint things their way, i.e. they have an agenda?

A church I used to attend was very lively, and one day a camera crew came in, for seeming innocuous reasons. Then a week or so later they were doing a TV report on crazy ideas in the church. They actually used a pictures of a group of people going through a fitness circuit training session as if it was worship .. actually the church out of consideration lets its premises be used for such useful community purposes such as dance exercise, circuit training etc. There's a lot of antichristian people out there who aren't very honest. They will select, portray and use devious means to push their agenda. Of course churches and christian camps/holidays probably vary a lot in quality.

I went to a christian camp when I was a teen - it was a highlight of those years for me as I used to go to a brutal boarding school. The contrast in behaviour at school and at the camp was immense.

Christian holiday events without God would be bad. When God's involved it can be wonderful.

Welcome to the world of fundamentalist evangelical Christian extremism! Unfortunately, it is far more common than we might wish...

The political power that this movement is gaining threatens American democracy every bit as much as communism or fascism ever did. It is very dangerous to American youth and to American liberty, despite what they say ("you can have freedom," but only so long as you stay in *their* mainstream, believe what they do, and behave as they tell you you should).

ADDED: I am not speaking of mainstream Christians here, only of fundamentalist extremists in the pattern of Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, and other such evangelicals who are trying to exercise their political muscle and force their religion (and thus their power) into our schools, our government, and our daily lives.

Its down-right scary... and appaling...
What's also scary is how the owners of the "camp" are so deluded in thinking that they're right in what their doing... despite the fact that they are essentially playing with these children's lives and beliefs.

I watched half of it, thanks to Meow's link. "We must brainwash them at 5, since that is what our enemies the Muslims do." I always knew that these Christians were pure evil, but this is a really scary movie. What psychopaths. Christians should be ashamed of themselves, not for believing this crap, which they have no choice since they are being brainwashed from birth, but for their disgusting, divisive, hate-filled actions.

Yes, I watched it twice. Quite enlightening to see . . . and very affirming of my choice to leave Christianity behind.

For those who haven't seen it, check it out for yourselves and draw your own conclusions.
