I never skipped a period and I nursed my baby exclusively until she was one. Breastfeeding affects everyones hormones differently. If you are really worried about it talk to you OB/GYN.

Everyone is different. The each time I fully bf I did not have actual bleeding until 13 mos. when child totally weaned. I did however at 2-3 mos after birth I get PMS like/ovulation symptoms monthly same time of month. I get my period like clockwork all the time every month except during pregnancy and bf.
My friend got her period back at 2 mos.after birth bf or no bf.
Consider a nice thing. Everything is fine. no mess and no buying expensive tampons/pads. Be well

Don't worry. Well for me it was about a year. Then when I got my cycle back, I got pregnant again ! Then that repeated. I nursed the second baby and after a year, started again and got pregnant again ! After the third baby, I had my tubes tied ! This is one of the benefits of nursing, but don't use this as birth control as they did way back in the pioneer days. I hope this helps

With my DD my period came back when i stated working part-time at 7 months (she nursed until 40 months though).
With my son it came back at 12 months and he is 30 months and still nurses 3-5 times a day.

I didn't get my period back until my daughter was 15 months old. I got one period and then I got pregnant again. =D
Are you into charting and paying attention to your fertility signs? If you haven't picked up a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility, I'd do so. It's a great book and will teach you a lot. You might not be able to do the temping aspect of charting if you're not getting good, regular sleep...but you could easily pay attention to the other signs.
