In sunscreen the the UVA and UVB rays of the sun still hit your skin, but the lotion absorbs them.. In sunblock, it actually blocks the rays from coming in contact with your skin. SPF is a measure of what percent of the rays it will block/screen. The higher the spf the better :) Just make sure to follow the directions on the back,not reappling enough, or even not using enough lotion will cause the lotion to be less effective. :)

I disagree with the answer above. SPF refers to the Sun Protection Factor. It's a measurement of how much UV gets through to your skin. Whether it's sunblock or sunscreen or suntan lotion, the amount of damaging light hitting your skin is the same if the SPF is the same.

nope, sunblock is a phyical block, like zinc oxide.
sunscreen is a chemical block, multiple chemicals.....frankly I prefer sunblock.
