You have to be 19 to buy alcohol and/or cigarettes in Toronto, or any city in the province (our version of states in America) of Ontario in Canada. As far as clubs go, 19 again would apply unless you can find a club that is "all ages", where no alcohol is allowed to be served. Some clubs have an allages night once a week or month or whatever, depending on the reason (holiday, entertainment, etc.).

The legal age is 19 in Ontario. However come clubs will set variable age restrictions based upon the clientele they wish to attract. A no admittance under 21 or 25 club is common.

Of course... if the drinking age in Ontario is 19 that means any 19 year old can get loaded. Too bad you didn't discover this sooner... some Canadian provinces (like Alberta) have 18 as the drinking age. You could have been wasted a year earlier.
