I like the infrared thermometers. They are easy and accurate. You just run them from the middle of the forehead to the temple area and boom, instant temperature. Mine is an "Exergen" comfort scanner, infrared thermometer.

I think the thermometer that reads from the temple is the best. I can't remember the name, but it reads in seconds and is 100% accurate

rectal are most accurate. We were using a pacifier thermometer, but that is supposed to be the least accurate of them all.

rectal....the old glass ones with the mercury in them...hard to find and quite dangerous/toxic if they break....just find one that you can use rectally.....
