Is it possible to get pregnant even when using withdrawal method? I've read some studies saying that the pre-ejaculation fluid doesn't contain any sperm, unless the guy ejaculated within the last 12 hours and only then the fluid can pick up some sperms. This seems to be the only birth control method that works with me....I'm allergic to condoms, and my doctor said that with these other pills I'm taking I shouldn't take contraceptives... what do you guys think about using the withdrawal method?

Withdrawal method is the poorest b/c method there is. What about you being fitted for a diaphragm or IUD? Are you allergic to all condoms or only latex? If latex then have him use some other kind, also add spermacidal foam...there's also a cervical cap you can try. Talk to your doc about all the options...condoms and the pill are by far not your only choices.

"Of every 100 women whose partners use withdrawal, 27 will become pregnant during the first year of typical use. Of every 100 women whose partners use withdrawal, four will become pregnant during the first year of perfect use.

Pre-ejaculate can pick up enough sperm left in the urethra from a previous ejaculation to cause pregnancy. Pregnancy is also possible if semen or pre-ejaculate is spilled on the vulva."

What i have heard about the pull out method is that even if the guy pulls out in time that right before they ejaculate a little bit of sperm shoots out no matter what. And i believe because so many women get pregnant and they say that they use the pull out method. But its all a 50/50 chance ya know? either you have sex and get pregnant or you dont. Even with condoms and birth control girls still get pregnant. So the only way to be a 100% sure not to get pregnant, is not to have sex.

My husband and i have used this method sucessfully for the last 11yrs. as our form of birth control. When we desired to get pregnant it happened within the 1st or 2nd month of trying. I feel this method can be effective, however, being married is a huge security if there were to be an oops. I don't believe i would risk it otherwise.

Get the non latex kind of condoms. You can get pregnant with the withdrawal method. I would also reccomend birth control pills when ever possible.

I wouldn't trust it. All reading I have ever done said pre-ejaculation fluid can still potentially get you pregnant. I suggest you either abstain from sex, ask your doctor about using an IUD, lamb skin condoms, or move on to other methods of pleasure until you are ready to get pregnant.

Yes Yes Yes! There is sperm in pre-ejaculate! Withdrawl is not a suitable method of birth control!

yes you can and will get pregnant. It only takes one sperm to do the job. Are you allergic to condoms, spermicide, or just latex? You need to find out what the specific allergy is, as std's must still be a concern. There are polyurethane condoms if it is just a latex allergy you could use pollyU's.

YES you can still get pregnant with the 'withdrawl' method! So if you don't want to risk getting pregnant, then don't have sex until you're ready to expect a baby.
Go to a pharmacy and see if they know of a condom that will work for you since you're allergic to the common ones sold.

Technically you stand a chance of getting pregnant but it is a small one that is the method I have been using for the past 2 years and the woman that I have been with is still not pregnant.
