You probably have to re-take the eye exam. If you hold a higher class of licence (a CDL) you may be required to pass a written test.

I think that in the first 10-15 years after receiving a liscense, people would become better drivers with experience. I would think even at the age of 50 some drivers should be required to take a driving test, just because eyesight, hearing, or health problems might be detrimental to their driving ability. After that, I personally believe that every 5 years older drivers should retake the test. I see way too many elderly people behind the wheel that should not be, and I believe this will only be safer for them and other drivers on the road.

Where I live, you only have to retake the test if you let your license expire. Renew ahead of time and you should be fine.

Go in about a week before it expires, and you should only have to have a new picture taken.
The only time that I have ever taken tests again is when I wanted to upgrade my level(s)

Only test I have ever had to take when renewing my licence, was the color blindness test.
