sureal - combine the nouns - dice, tree, light bulb, thumbtack, stairs, clock and building.

just play around with it ....

still life - gather things around your home that you reallly really like! cloth, vase, shoes, and lighting is key!!! then get a table to put them all on and draw what you see then paint it!

draw what this means to you (fear)

draw somethign that might sell -- (anything Musically abstracted) ei. I did a super zoom mentally with a guitar It's SWEET!

try to do a duplicate of someones else work! I did this it was hard but fun! didn't turn out anything like it should have!
but fun regardless

I have this a lot when I work with painting and other art projects, art block. What I do is take a walk look at things that draw my attention, you might want a camera by your side. For example a white flower among blue ones. Or if that is not for you then you can try to do a simple project. Use tape to make shapes on the canvas then paint what you want what color you want. This is a great project for beginners. But if you are more advanced try doing an abstract painting because you can never go wrong. Let your imagination run wild. Make yellowish Mountains with 3- d flowers and a gush of wind over head that is a rainbow of colors. Be creative and be yourself. Hope this helped.

Since all artists go through artist's block at one point or another, maybe you should consider tackling this subject on canvas? Whether abstract, or figurative, objective, or not, I'm sure other artists would appreciate your interperetation of what we all go through. Norman Rockwell was an expert at capturing single ideas in his illustrative paintings. Maybe explore some of the themes he tackled and aim to make as strong a statement.

Look to nature to find the answer. Try using different sponges to do trees, flowers, and bodies of water and then go in with a brush to do details. Beach scenes are also good.

Paint the canvas with a bunch of weird Asian print designs and words and then sew the canvas into a purse.

Don't think of anything, When you have a sudden urge to paint a feeling wether it be bliss or pain. PAINT IT. That is what art is the expression of your emotions at the time. To capture that moment. Screw trying to copy somyjing. You can't copy true feeling.

Well, that just comes down to your level of expertice.

I'd say... paint a little scene in Spain, with a quiant, cozy little home.

Do a self portrait in fun colors rather than traditional ones.
