You are correct your service in the armed forces of the United states would put you on the fast track to citizenship. If you already live in the U.S. talk to a recruiter. If you don't live in the U.S. you will need to visit or contact the closest embassy or consulate.

You have to have a green card. My husband was born in Mexico and he served in the U.S. Army for 3 years, on a green card. When he got out, he went to become a U.S. Citizen and they made it easier on him. He was already fluent in the English language, and he didn't have to take the citizenship test because he served. He has been a U.S. citizen since 1999. Good Luck and I hope this helps.

YOu need to have a green card, meaning you are in the US legally to join the military. YOu do not need to be a US citizen to join.

there is NO way around the Green Card . if you are not a citizen, you MUST have a green card. period. and no, the military cannot and will not help you get one.
