Is the water in Montreal, Canada safe to drink? I am from S. Florida and am visiting here and do not feel very well. I drank a lot of water from a restaurant last night.

Maybe it's the food or the weather , but the water is absolutely fine to drink.

Ok, here is the deal. When I used to live in Florida, I could not take the water there, it made my tummy really upset (I moved from the West Coast). When I moved to the Mid-Atlantic area, I could drink the tap water just fine, but when I went back to florida, I would start to feel bad. The difference in the water there compared to other places is the source and the depth that it is. The reason I say this is because I flew to visit my inlaws in Milwaukee and drank their water - Lake Michigan - and had the same experiance.

My humble opinion is that because you primarily drank water from Florida, your body is not used to the different minerals that are in the water in different areas. It will pass, if you have it again tonight and feel the same, pick up some bottled water the is filtered (Aquafina and Dasani are only tap water). Then you will feel better.

It sounds like that water was inside a lot of Molson beer - and that is why you have a problem.

Montreal is a big modern city. Its water supply is safe as can be.

Half of the tourists in Florida are people from Montreal who are fleeing the cold winter weather so Florida-Montreal exchanges are very common and no one is complaining about water in either direction.

Yes, the water is very safe. Actually Canada, the U.S and Austraila are really the only places where its safe to eat or drink what you please. Unlike places like Brazil, Africa, Mexico, or India. Maybe it was the food you ate? Is it something you wouldn't normally eat? Sometimes when the body isn't used to a particular food, like super spicy foods for example, it doesn't react well. I've even heard stories about vegetarians who go for so long without meat their body gets used to it and when they finally do eat something with meat they get sick. Also, a very common thing is travel sickness. Traveling long distances can throw off your body causing you to feel nausous or like you may have diareah. My father and mother traveled down to North Carolina and my mom ended up getting "travel sick". Hope you feel better!

Canada is a rich country, of course it's fine. When I visited Canada it does taste different from the water from where I'm from but it's not poisonous or anything.

All tap water is safe to drink. They all have guide lines. There are pollutants that I don't want. So I use a filter on my system. As far as other systems well the amount that you drink wouldn't be enough to worry about.

Safe, yes; pleasant, no. It comes from Lake Erie, if that tells you anything.
