How do you crouch on PS2 Mafia game?

It says L3, but I can't find the L3 button. I accidentally got him to crouch once, but don't know how I did it.
btw- I'm trying to save Same I think at the Clark's Hotel if it makes a diff.

You have to PRESS DOWN on the left Analog Stick. When you press down on it, you will feel a "click".

That's your L3 button.

The R3 button would be the same thing except it would be your RIGHT analog stick instead.
