I am currently trying out the induction phase of the Atkins Diet. I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not chewing a lot (and I mean a lot) of sugarless gum would somehow mess with the results. Each stick has one gram of carbohydrate, but it's in the form of sugar alcohol (but not splenda), so I didn't think it should be counted in daily carb totals. An knowledge would be greatly appreciated!

It might, yes. Even though its sugar-alcohol you still shouldn't be going over 20 net carbs per day. Atkins doesn't necessarily exclude sugar alcohol from total carbs.

The only thing that helped me was to eat lots of pork rinds and drink diet pop with it . I lost thirty pounds but developed health problems---back to just watching what I eat now
