Why would you do either?

Prayer is a waste of time. There are no gods anywhere listening to them. If you think you did something wrong, try to learn from it and do better next time. Maybe you can try making amends for what you did. In the long run, though, you are the one who has to live with yourself. Either accept that you are human and make mistakes, and try to do better, or just obsess about every little fault you perceive and drive yourself nuts. The option is yours.

As for temptation, there's nothing wrong with it. Don't fall for religious thought police tactics. Thinking about doing something is not the same as doing it. And sometimes, it is good to give in to your temptations. Life would be boring if you never wanted anything.

Of course it seems that way. The problem is forgiveness isn't going to be easy to achieve if one is always led into temptation. The effects of succumbing are going to be painful and the praying is going to end up as begging. Yuk. Better to stay away from temptation although it seems harder at first.

Well, it would definitely be easier, but like with a lot of things that's not the right thing. Usually if it's easier, then it's not the right way or thing to do. Not always, but a lot of times. I don't know if you've ever seen the movie Eragon, but in one part, it is mentioned that it is easier to ask forgiveness than it is to ask permisson, and I totally agree, but once again, it's no the right thing to do.

Love, joy, peace, patience, reasonableness and self control are a package. If you have one you have the others pretty much. Then getting over temptation is easier 'cuase you won't care that much about it. Foregiveness is about getting over your remorse. If you forgive people you're automatically included. If we have to forgive, god has to forgive. There are rules.

It is a first but as your heart becomes more aware of Jesus in your life temptation loses it's hold. I guess you just get tired of asking for the same thing over and over. Isn't doing the same thing over and over expecting different results insanity?
God Bless!

It's easier to pray for forgiveness than to seek it from those you have wronged. That's why the idea of the forgiveness of sins by God promotes bad morality.

Not if you are actually and sincerely praying for forgiveness. Gaining forgiveness is a difficult process. Christ taught that you must leave the sin behind, please with Heavenly Father to change your heart, confess, et cetera. To actually repent is much harder than not doing sin in the first place. Repentance is there to help us when we fall, not to encourage us to fall...

Sure, go kill you boss and then ask for forgiveness. You might get it as the IVs are inserted and the deathly liquids flow into your body.

Sure temptation is difficult to avoid, but getting forgiveness from something you knew was wrong is much harder, and costly
