At some point, yes we do. North Korea and Iran are much bigger threats now. I do believe we will attack Iran before President Bush leaves office.

There sure seems to be a get out of jail free card for anybody who makes it across the Pakistan border. The government of Pakistan has all but said that it has made a deal with local "tribes" to allow them "some" self government. I think that is a much better source of terrorist training and C&C than Iran. The Wahabbi's and the shiates just don't get along that well.

Last I knew, we had troops on the Pakistan border since 7th October 2001. They like to kill their own (Tillman) and run away, if they see a real life Taliban. How else do you explain, that after 6 years of Afhganistan Occupation by the USA(Pakistan has a long border with Afghanistan), the Taliban and Al-Qaeda can do, what they want in Afghanistan. By the way, the poppy crop this year is the best since 20 years.

Depends upon how we go in. Your suggestion of special forces might work, if they are sent in without any public admission that they are there. But Bush is in enough trouble for lying (or so many people think), so he might hesitate to do that. Bin laden's people have apparently killed many tribal leaders in the part of Pakistan they are hiding out in, which would indicate there are people there who would like to avenge the deaths of their leaders. The best tactic might be to recruit "avengers" from among those people and provide them with training. That may come back to haunt us if they target us next, but we have to deal with one threat at a time.

A full scale invasion would be nuts considering the problem we have in Iraq and Afghanistan, which have a combined population that is less than a third of Pakistan's.

Very Hard call. HATE Bush's doctor ne we can do what we want.
Would support a strike by volunteers that would slip the reward if they got him, but they would know that no further action would be taken if they were captured or killed.
President Clinton had a covert plan to kill OB using covert forces posing as television reporters. When coup happened it was called off. Always wondered who really was behind that coup.

No. The US does not know where Bin Laden and Al Qaeda are. Pakistan is one of the most densely populated countries. Any outsiders would not be able to pick the bad guys from the hordes of tribesmen running around in those mountains.

I think they are already there. When stationed on the DMZ in Korea I saw the US Special forces routinely cross the border into north Korea. You can bet they are causing some havoc in Pakistan.

Special forces units only. We will end up at war with Pakistan if we mess with them too much.

i agree, Pakistan said Obama's comments to that extent, we "ignorant" but i think it's because they are scared. They know they are harboring terrorists and aren't donig anything about it. I signed this:
