the height of a building has nothing to do with the type or depth of its foundation. It has much more to do with the type, and bearing resistance of the soil beneath the building.
Generally, the taller the building, the more vertical and wind/seismic load will have to be resisted by the foundation system.
Typically tall buildings are built on a series of columns founded on concrete spread footings or drilled shafts. For really bad soil, mat foundations are used.

A foundation analysis of the specific site and design of the building would have to be completed. You could find out by spending several millions of dollars if you wish................

I would think it would vary based on the soil, water table, rock layers, etc. I think they dig until they can put the foundation on bed rock.
