This morning on the way to work, I passed by a black couple in a car. Both seats were reclined back as far as they could go. The driver could barely see over the steering wheel from his reclined position. However, was operating the car in this fashion. It did not look very safe.

This seems to be common in the black community. So, why do so many black people recline in their cars like this?

Secondly, I do not understand the whole wearing big baggy pants that are falling off of your backside.

The perception among racist whites is that black people do not work very hard, and that most are on welfare.

Don't these things perpetuate this stereotype? To recline in the car in such an unsafe manner, looks lazy, like they can't sit up straight. And to wear baggy pants, again, looks like one is too lazy to pull the pants up?

Your thoughts?

I do not consider myself to be racist...but, by thinking these things, am I?

I am a white women and have two black grandchildren. They are my heart. Every generation of young people have their way of dressing and so forth. Mine was in the hippie days. I wasn't one but when they show things of T.V. how they acted and dressed and most on drugs it freaks me out. It doesn't matter what race you are alot of young people are dressing or driving this way. Just look around you. Driving to fact is unsafe, talking on cell phones is unsafe, drunk driving is unsafe I could go on and on. You might not be a racist but you are stereotyping blacks. That is part of racist. You have a good day and look up what racist really means. No harm intended. Take care.

Trying to not be racist huh? That is very stereotypcial and leads to racism. I can tell you that I do not fit that stereotype however there are some that do but that can be said for any race. You must live in a box or something. This question smells a bit troll-ish to me.

And what on earth does this have to do with religion or spirituality!?

"I mean, one he's black, so LOL. Why doesn't he go suck off the leader of the BNP or the French National Front too. He must be lost, supporting a racist club." i dont hate you or anything travis, but you gotta admit that's a little bit of a racist statement there.

actually there are more whites on welfare in this country than blacks.

the reclining thing is because "the man" is selling them cars that have built in "anti-black" people seats that get screwed up whenever a black person sits in them.

the baggy pants hanging off the hips is retaliation for the crappy cars that whitey keeps giving him/her so they can moon them quicker.

This is not religion or spirituality.
Besides, I have seen plenty of white teens with their pants hanging down the middle of their hips.

Dunno, do 'blacks' in africa do it?

Do you notice when white or mixed-race people wear 'gangsta' crap?

Methinks you are talking about a subculture that is prevalent in the ghetto/urban american scene. Surely? It doesn't define black, just a subculture of black identity, like skinheads or corporate christians don't define 'white', or 'slightly tanned'?.

See?
