I watched a show one time saying this..is this accurate or just a myth?

Dogs are pack animals and they consider their family the same as their pack. Depression in one of their pack-mates could very well have an effect on them, depending on how sensitive they are. Some dogs are just big, dumb and happy (like some people) others are more in tune with feelings of others...K ;o)

I think so.. I think dogs can sense what humans are feeling. The answer above me is a very good explanation too.

I can not say for sure, but they do seem to have a way of knowing when you down in the dumps are and act as though they sympathise. It may be that they can read body language better than we can, because they do not have a common language with us although they recognise many words

Sometimes dogs have what's called "Masters" if they think their owner is depressed they will try to comfort their master but I sometimes it's impossible the dog wants their master to be happy.

Dogs have feelings to, they are very sensitive,if you are sick or depressed they pick up on it,just remember they are part of your family to ,and they really care about your feelings. dogs are alot smarter than people realize. very good question.

They don't get depressed when people do.. They feel that you are feeling depressed and they know that you aren't happy.. They are wondering why you are sad...And should they be worried..
