I would like in excel to set up a formula so that when I enter a number in one column, it adds to the number I enter the number entered in a different column. However, on each new row there will be a new numbered entered and a new numbered that needs to be added to it. So when I enter a number in C4, I would like for it to add to it the value of Q4. When I enter a number in C15, I want it to add the value from Q15.

You can type the formula once in the formula bar - such as =C4 + Q4.

Then use the copy feature to copy to new rows and it should automatically adjust the numbers for the row.

Here is a good tutorial:

You just need to put a formula in a cell - for example go to cell C16 - Then enter the formula +C4+C15. This will add those numbers together and put the total in C16. Then copy that formula to Q16, or to all the cells from C16 to Q16. The formula will automatically adjust for each new column.

Good Luck.

You will have to use another cell in another col. in order to add values from one cell to another.
When you "enter" a number into a cell, any formula in that cell will be overwritten.

Using a new cell in a different col, the first formula can be copied down and it will automatically change to the correct cell references.

you write =C4 + (then using arrow keys or mouse move to Q4) and press enter
pretty much you just put the = sign before the equation and it should work
hope that makes sense

with a formulation. say you have information in column A and you prefer Column B to function 30 to each and each value and demonstrate the recent type. style =(A1+30) into cellular B1. then click the decrease left nook of B1 and drag it right down to the backside of your information in Column A, it is going to reflect the formulation and increment it to the subsequent row (it rather is plenty much less complicated than typing =(A2+30) into cellular B2, etc etc).
