Yes, it is definitely cheaper. But I've heard some people say that it's hard to print the invitations well without the ink smearing on them. You can also make your own invitations if you're crafty. OR for cheap professional invitations, check out www.invitationsbydawn.com. There are a lot of options there that cost less than $100 for 100 invitations.

RE:
Is it cheaper to buy invitation stationary at Office Max and print them yourself?
Instead of paying a company to do it like the ordinary way?

Yes, it is. I did it for my wedding and I loved them! You can get stationary from all kinds of places, Walmart, Target and office supply places. You can also buy software to help you but we just used Word. It's not that hard. Just print it on regular paper and play around with it until you are happy. Then you don't waste the invitation paper getting the spacing perfect!

Yes, it's a lot cheaper to do it yourself. Make sure you have a good printer because an older or poor printer will come out with invites that don't look as nice. You can also go to Michael's where they have a huge selection of invite papers.

It is so much cheaper doing it that way than having them printed professionally. Me on the other hand went the expensive route. I got special embossed paper with foil roses. When I seen them I had to get em'. They were so different than anything I have ever seen. If you want the cheaper route Office Max and Wal-Mart have the paper. And yes those are cute too but just a little too plain for me. if you want expensive try Carlson Craft. Hope this helps.

I saved over $200 making my invitations myself and got invitations that were perfectly suited to the style. Nothing premade looked right. It DOES take more time, but I think it's worth it.
I don't know what the pricing is at Office Max but I bought card stock on-line very cheap, and had them printed at Kinko's where they trimmed everything for me. All I had to do was glue pieces together. For my RSVP's I created post cards on www.vistaprint.com which saved me time & money. Postage for post cards is cheaper than regular cards. I got many compliments on them.

I've used the invitations you're referring to. You can get them at Michaels, Walmart, or Joanns. I don't recommend them; that top sheet, which is vellum, can be very tricky to print on. All three of those stores sell other invitation kits by Wilton that are a heavier cardstock, and I highly recommend them. They average about $15 per box of 50.

Yes, much cheaper! I went to Wal-Mart for my invitations and they were $15 for 40 invitations (this included Invitation, response card, and envelopes for both). On the box of the invitations is the wedsite (www.wiltonprint.com) where you can go to set up the wording, font and more for the printing of the cards. The Kit includes test papers so you can figure out exactly how you need them to look. It is really easy to use.
Most places have matching thank you cards, place card, and much other coordinating supplies!

Yes it is much cheaper unless u are sending out 200 wedding invites then u may want to order them, but if u are having a small wedding by all means print them yourself and save the money for the honeymoon or gift for your new hubby...

Depends on how much time you have too. Sometimes paying someone else to do it is a lot easier than doing the job yourself :)
I printed my own engagement announcements, invites & thank you's - TOTALLY CHEAP!! I got my stuff at Office Depot - Walmart has some pretty cute stuff too.
