i am getting BAD BAD BAD gas mileage with mine 15.9 mpg city.
i use cruise every time i can, i coast to red lights, starts off slow, i inflate my tires a little more the recommended (about 1-2 psi over), i changed my air filter about 1 year ago (6,000 miles) i change the oil every 3000 miles dont have extra weight in the car, no roof rack.
i'm thinking i should change the air filter again
i'm a college student i can afford this much gas
once every 2 months i use fuel injector cleaner

Well I would say just take it to any Nissan Service Dept. and have them fully inspect it because my girl's car gets around 20mpg...

Your gasmilage may vary.... Take it from me your SUV should do much better. Air fuel ratio sensors could cause bad gas mileage as will missing cat converter shield bolts. leaking oxygen into the second o2 sensor. Ok you start it up and drive three miles and turn it off then lunch three more miles then back to the Dorms. 9 or ten miles a day you can only expect about 14 to 17 miles a gallon at a average speed of 28 miles an hour. Pull it out to the freeway this weekend and top off the tank drive 15 miles turn around and drive back 30 total miles fill back up same station and do the math. Short trips you might walk bicycle or bum a ride.

Try putting in it 93 octane gas it gives you better gas mileage then the other two lower grades would.I have an 04 murano and a 03 maxima both have the same engine you do the 3.5v6 and I notice that these engines like the good stuff the cheap crap just goes thru them like water. Also try putting gas like at a Mobil or some sort of name gas station. Those no name ones seem to give cars worse mpg.Well hope this helps

I have an 05 Murano too, but it has never given me a trouble. Just tire problems and change of oil. Do you have Warranty? If so, call the Nissan dealer where you purchased the vehicle and explain to them the situation. They know whats best. But remember to always consult with different mechanics/dealerships because some tend to charge more than what its supposed to be..

I like virtually everything about the Murano except the front grille! It is a good looking MPV, but the fact that it came with a 3.5l petrol engine and tiptronic gearbox put me off it (too expensive to run). The tiptronic gearbox also doesn't give much torque for towing. I bought a 2.5l Navara Adventura instead. Other vehicles similar to the Murano are the VW Touareg and the Lexus RX, both of which are more expensive. I personally preferred the styling of the VW, but it was too expensive.
