Are your beliefs set in stone, or do you allow for experience and the gathering of knowledge and understanding throughout your life to gradually change them?
Do you let your beliefs flow to match the shape of the world around you... or do you try to reshape the world to match your beliefs?

Randy :~ Apparently you only see my question in black and white though. Were I to go into detail to express the shades of grey inbetween the extremes, I would hit the character limit. It doesn't work in practical terms here. . . . So, since you made no further effort than to condemn the limitations of my question, and I answered that, would you please now go into more detail with your answer?

[ I see some people here are semi-fluid... some total rocks... and quite a few fluid with lumpy bits in. Very few genuinely liquid though. So I suppose you can't blame anyone but yourself when part of you crashes into a corner somewhere and won't quite fit through. ]

I allow for experience and the gathering of knowledge and understanding throughout my life to gradually change them. Truth is that EVERYONE does. They are just not always aware of it. But some people flow further than others, I suppose. In any case, I don't "flow" to match the shape of the world around me. Often what you see is not what you get. But I also do not try to reshape the world to match my beliefs, either. I try to maintain a delicate balance between the two.

Some fluid, some set pretty solid.
But I do my best to keep my mind open enough to where if something that makes sense to me comes along and challenges even the "set pretty solid" stuff, I can still change that out.
My main belief is that The Truth, capital "T"s, is way too big for any one person's brain. So I listen to other people who might have pieces of the puzzle I don't have.

My beliefs evolve as I come to a better understanding of God, the Bible, and myself. They don't "flow to match the shape of the world around me" and I don't try to reshape the world. I simply learn that there are things I've misunderstood.

Some of my beliefs are set in stone. There are others though that can change. I try and keep my mind open but there are certain things that will never change not because I'm close minded but because I'm open minded.

Just when I think I have something figured out, I find out I'm wrong, but then sometimes things happen and I find out I was right all along...think that qualifies for being fluid eh? being rigid only allows one enough room to break.

i am more flexible in certain areas but not so much in other areas. it depends on what the beliefs are. i do allow experience to shape and mold my feelings for certain things as long as it is reasonable.

I'm an air sign. Not only are my beliefs contradictory, they are very adjustable. Nothing like a good paradox.

How fluid? Let me put it this way- when I wake up every morning, I have a nice cup of my beliefs.

Neither!
I think there is a flaw in your logic.
I see shadows of gray, not just black and white.
Could that be transparency and honesty as opposed to
dogmatism seen in black and white remarks.
