People feel that women should receive the priesthood because they think that it shows favoritism to men before God. Not so!
What is more powerful: being able to give a blessing, or to create life?
Which is more sanctified?
Men have no such earthly power. The true spirit of my church "gives to woman the highest place of honor in human life."
"[N]either is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord." 1 Cor. 11:11
In other words, the priesthood authority of God would not exist on Earth without women there to make mankind! Kinda makes me feel like a smaller part of the world when I think about it.
Also, another thing that women have that men don't get:
"[Women] shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety." 1 Tim. 2:15
I get no such loophole. So, to make up for it, men are ordained as priests so that they don't get an inferiority complex. :)

As each white guy in those days (the days of Brigham youthful), they have been racist by ability of at present's primary, although they even have been abolitionists and "*****-fanatics" by ability of the criteria of their time. They tried to make experience of their worldwide with the guidance that they had, mutually with the biases that they had found out from their protestant history. And undergo in innovations, interior the circumstances those issues have been pronounced and written, ***** replaced into no longer a bad word. It replaced right into a denominator utilized by ability of everybody. This delivered approximately the so called "priesthood ban". And back the subsequent technology tried to make experience with the flaws that they had. it somewhat is like a puzzle: you have some wisdom, you have some revelation, and you attempt to make an entire photograph out of it devoid of understanding the finished photograph ahead. on each occasion a clean piece comes into the the appropriate option place, the photograph gets clearer, and a few factors of the photograph you imagined would desire to be tossed out, by using fact they're incorrect. Likewise right here, while the hot revelation got here that ended the priesthood ban, old "truths" had to be tossed out. subsequently between the apostles pronounced: "forget something I or each individual else pronounced (with reference to the priesthood ban and related to black human beings of African descent) basically before this revelation: We did no longer have the understanding we've got."

This is a matter for the church. It's their club and they make the rules. I think it would be a very good idea for them to accept women as priests, as they have difficulty finding enough men these days. Also, there's no reason why women can't do the job, and they would be far less likely to molest the altar girls.
But, in a way I'd just as soon they not allow women priests. It helps to underscore for the world just how ancient, outdated, and chauvinistic their superstitions are.

If you go back into our salvation history you would see that this was never the case as the first born son always took on the role. Since Adams' sin it was up to the males to make up for that. Obviously Christ finally got it right and priest are vicars of Christ. Woman have their roles as Mary is the Queen of the Church

No one is entitled. But I do think the church is missing out on a lot of wonderful leaders. But, that is their choice, and excluding women will be one of the many factors in their lessening popularity. Women are equal to men in the eyes of any god I'm willing to believe in.

The priesthood isn't about being ENTITLED to do anything. It's a calling to die to oneself and live for Christ and His Church.
Both women and men are called to do this, but they are called in different ways. Women don't have to act like men to be equal, and men don't have to act like women to be effective.
The role of the priesthood in the Catholic Church is acting "in persona Christi" or "as the person of Christ." In other words, the people taking on that role are to be His voice, His hands, etc., to do His continuing work on earth while He resides bodily in Heaven.
Because Jesus is a man (God-in-the-flesh, but male flesh), a person acting "in persona Christi" ought to be a man also.
Think of it this way. Suppose some fantastic Hollywood director was making a new movie about a great spiritual leader. Say Ghandi, for the sake of argument. I know, I know -- nobody can top Ben Kingsley's performance in the 1980s, but bear with me. There's a new movie to be made about Ghandi, and there are many wonderful actors who can take on the role.
Now, suppose the director cast Meryl Streep in the part. Meryl Streep is a very fine actress, one of the best ever. But casting a female to play a man like Ghandi is making a statement about Ghandi's masculinity. It's saying either that Ghandi was effeminate, Ghandi was really a woman in drag or perhaps that Ghandi was gender-neutral, or that his gender didn't matter at all.
What happens then is that the femaleness of the actor (Meryl Streep) becomes An Issue for the movie.
So it is with the Catholic priesthood. They aren't just preaching and serving -- we have plenty of women doing that just fine, thanks, among the religious (sisters/nuns) and laypersons. But the priesthood is a specific role of "in persona Christi." If a woman is given that role, it means the Church is saying something about Jesus' masculinity. To me, His male-ness really does matter, because it's part of Him being Fully Man (as well as Fully God). I don't think it's right to strip Him of His masculinity by having a female "play the part" on earth.
But it's NOT a slight to women, any more than Meryl Streep would feel slighted that she wasn't cast to play Ghandi. There are roles for women in Hollywood and roles for men, plenty for everyone.
Likewise in the Catholic Church, there are and always have been many, many roles for women, and women are and always have been appreciated and lauded as full Christians (unlike a handful of Protestant denominations where women are TRULY oppressed). We have many women saints -- it's 50/50. We have women who have been declared "Doctors of the Church" long, long before women were doctors, politicians, etc. in our secular society.
So one role of servitude isn't available to women -- big deal. That's like women being invited to a wedding banquet where all the waiters are men and complaining about discrimination.
TRUE equality comes from the fact that both men and women RECEIVE the Sacraments equally. It's not about who SERVES the Sacraments.

Religion, organized by men for men is a dying breed. Why would any woman in their right mind want to jump onto the sinking bandwagon? They are doing a pretty good job of hanging themselves with their lies and deceit. Give a man enough rope and all that.

I don't know why other than some feel they would not be equal if they can't fill the same posts. I feel that we all have a roll to play and I look to the wife of my bishop for strength and assistance just as much as the bishop himself. She has a wonderful glow about her that all of our ward are attracted to, and she is just as important as her husband is to us all.

To deny a job or position to someone based upon sex, color, race, creed is old-fashioned antiquated thinking. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
If people want to be old-fashioned, lets get rid of the courts and go back to street justice, drag all the fornicators out into the streets and stone them.
If you can modify one old-fashioned idea you can modify any other old-fashioned idea.
