I don't cover my tattoos for anything other than job interviews. They're part of me and I don't care if something on MY body offends someone else merely by its presence.

What does it matter? If you want to cover them up do it if you want to show them then don't cover up.
Other peoples opinions are immaterial.
Do whatever make YOU comfortable
Ankle/leg tattoos in most cases look great on girls because they usually choose something small / delicate and cute.
I find tattoos on girls quite sexy, wish my partner was into them.. She would look great with something small on her ankle or shoulder, but she's not interested.... My loss i suppose

Tattoo are more fashionable now a days, but sadly still not socially accepted. It depends on your comfort level. If you think this is not a place to show off your tattoo then cover it.

i don't think that it is necessary for you to cover your tattoos unless you feel the need to do so.
on one side of my family my grandparents don't know i have the tattoos that i do and i kindof go out of my way to keep them from knowing because they are very conservative and i feel like my having tattoos would maybe hurt their feelings.
but i recently went home to my grandparent's house (on the other side of the family) and i didn't bother covering up any of them. i would say that that side of the family is very rich/snobbish but i just didn't care about what they thought about my having tattoos. so it really is up to you.
some people feel like tattoos make a dressed up outfit look less dressy but i disagree, i love dressing up and looking classy with my tattoos showing.
good luck with whatever you decide.

if it's small and tasteful you can probably leave it out, but if you're worried because you're around a lot more "old fashioned" people and think that they will make comments about it or something, then cover it up. It's really whatever you're comfortable with

It depends on who the old fashioned people are. If it's your grandmother who will always bring it up and complain to your parents about who they raised a heathan, save you and your parents some grief and cover it. If you don't know them and may never see them again, don't worry about it.

if you love, leave- its a part of you and you shouldnt be worried of other peoples opinion of you, if you had a mole on your leg you wouldnt worry if people would be offended. its the same principal, its your body and your business, i have my husbands name on the front of my thigh, and when i wear a skirt or pair of shorts, i never who will dislike it, i decide if i wanna be cool in shorts or hot in pants0 and shorts always win!!! be yourself, and dont worry about why a snobby person would be bothered by something tat doesnt effect them (and have fun at the shower and wedding!)

Personally if its tasteful then i don't see why people would have a problem, but if you think you'd feel uncomfortable then cover up.

to me a tattoo that is visible on a girl is provocative, like a belly button. it implies that she is kinda sexy & wild & very sexually experienced......
