I'm good friends with this guy and he broke up with his girlfriend of 4 and a half years at the beginning of the summer. He's still a bit hung up on her but is slowly realizing that he needs to move on. I've developed a lot of feelings for him and I just don't know what to do. He is someone that I care about so much and we get along so great. I'm just stuck on what to do. He knows I like him I just feel stuck at the point we are at now.

For your sake leave him be for the time being. He WILL end up hurting you if you get involved with him too soon. He just got out of a long term relationship. The last thing you want to be is the rebound. He might end up making a pass for you sooner or later due to the fact he knows that you like him. He doesn't want to hurt you but he will. He will look at you as the person to get him over his ex. And once he is, he will be done with you. That is how rebounds work. Take your time with him. If he makes a pass keep him at arms length. No matter how much you want him. You have to be SURE that he wants YOU. Not just your company. Tread lightly here. This is a perfect recipe for heartache for you. So just take it slow. Good Luck sweetie.

So if he already knows you like him, give him time to finish healing and just be there for him right now. When he is ready to move on if he likes you then he will let you know. If you can't wait, then ask him to go do something...see what happens.
be cool...

I would definitely give him time. 4 and a half years is a long time and he can't devote his feelings to you when he's still worried about her. That wouldn't be fair to either of you.
