Number one ,they are mistaken in believing that there was an actual world- flood, the archaeological evidences disprove such a thing. The fact they believe in all that nonsense boils down to brainwashing and ignorance.
It is sad but true.

Bula'ai is right. Lots of different cultures have that same story: a huge flood that covered the whole world.

But it wasn't ever meant to be taken literally, with all the animals in the world on the ark, etc.

It probably started with a real flood in one region and lots of people died and a few were saved and those people told the story of Noah as a way to explain the tragedy.

But nobody knows for sure. You'll just have to ask God when you get "up there."

Genesis 6:5-8
5) The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. 6 )The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. 7) So the LORD said, "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air—for I am grieved that I have made them." 8) But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.

Pretty clear to me...At the rate they were going- if he had not cleared the slate- You & I would have never had a chance..

Because they haven't figured out that the story is fiction -- as anyone with a shovel and the ability to count can determine for himself. The annual layers in the Antarctic ice cap go back hundreds of thousands of years; a flood would have destroyed them. This is by no means the only evidence that the story is false.

because the bible says so, and because people in ancient times believed that everything was done and caused by God, so for them to be able to put the reason for bad things happening to them and justify it happening they blamed it on god and the only reason god would do something that traumatic is because he was angry. Almost all cultures have a story of a great flood.

Because we believe in God, so we know that it wasn't just a "story", it's true history. If you don't believe in God, that you can't grasp the miracles that happened in the bible.

I guess because God had it written in the Bible. God is patient but when He reaches His limit, who is able to stop Him?
