Do you have any idea how much money Israel & Palestine could make from tourism if Israel and Palestine would resolve the situation?
Israel is on the map. People have accepted Israel. Palestine is no longer. That's why you have problems. A better question would be - how can we resolve the issue so both Israeli and Palestinian citizens can be safe and have the same opportunities?
Just because the US did what they did to Native Americans it doesn't make it right. We should learn from that and act like civilized human beings. The Jewish people have been through so much. If Israel is more educated/advanced, let it show. Set an example for the world that you have learned from negative experiences and that you can rebuild a land that so many people consider holy.
I'm neither Arab nor Jewish, but I do wish for peace in the Holy Land every single day.
"IF YOU CHANGE THE WAY YOU LOOK AT THINGS, THE THINGS YOU LOOK AT CHANGE." - this is the power of intent. Put it in your head that you want peace, and work on that. Yes, bad things have happened on both sides, but don't fight about the past. Look to the future and start working on making it better today.

Seems the Asker is confused or is deliberately trying to confuse others by mixing up concepts, so before Answering her question lets just make the few definitions of every time:
Zionism is a political movement
Israel, is a state Israeli is a nationality
Judaism is a religion
Semitic is an ethnic group
So opposing a political movment is a legitimate action practiced in every democracy, Being anti Zionist is definitely not like being anti France.
Recognizing that Israel was founded on ethnic cleansing is a good start but it doesn't make things right, ethnic cleansing is a crime, having others commiting it is in no way a valid justification.
From where I stand its Israel that doesnt accept the existence of Palestine, actually it even denies the existence of Palestinians as absurd as this sounds.
So why do you expect others to recognize the rights ofIsrael if Israel just wouldn't accept the rights of others... this is actually quite childish. The solution to the conflict doesn't lie in repeating the old useless arguments over and over again... The world is really getting tired of the image of the poor, old, helpless, discriminated against Jew who only wants peace.
The Solution lies in the implementation of International legitimace based on the principle of Land for peace, the Arabs already accepted this formula in 2002 but Israel is stalling. Need I say why?!
Edit to londonminx: Well I agree that 20% of Israelis are not jews, but saying they have the same rights as jews... you are going a bit too far, you must be kidding.
Are you sure the jews were their for thousands of years? So who are those who migrated from Poland, Russia, ethiopia and elswhere? Why was Netenyahu the first Israeli prime Minister to be born in Israel, Ironic huh!!!
Edit to paperback:Here are just some thoughts about your Typical Israeli "fogging" of realities through the usual flood of irrelevant stories and tales.
I said before why would anything that happened during the Bronze age have any effect on todays decisions? Is any body listening... Hello.
Who gave the British the right to give away something they don't even own?
Israel never gave land for peace, Israel was forced to give land for peace.
Why do you want other Arabs to correct your mistakes and compensate the Palestinians, you broke something you pay for it...
As for providing services to Palestinians, Israel is an occupation power, accordingly it has obligations towards the occupied Palestinians under the Geneva Conventions on the rules of war. There is nothing to thank Israel for here.

One is that those who are anti-Israel refuse to recognize Jewish people's history and existence in the land (since around 2000 BCE). Another reason is that people are jealous of Israel and Jews in general---look at what Israel and Jews have done for society and civilization. Small population but huge impact on the earth.
It is antisemitic to hate Israel primarily for one reason- it is the world's only Jewish country. Think about this--- who cares if you are anti-France? There are many, many Christian countries out there. You don't hate Christians. You are anit-Syria? You dont hate Muslims, since there are many, many Muslim countries out there also. But if you hate Israel, you are liable to be labeled anti-Jewish also, there is only one Jewish country, so your opinion is greatly (and hence, negatively as well) emphasized. Australia and the USA (we admit we treated tha native americans terribly) might have been founded on ethnic cleansing, but this is an outrage to the say the same for Israel. While many Muslim societies and countries have horrible human rights records, Jews in Israel still maintain and respect the Muslim dome of the rock and other places. The myth that Muslims were exterminated by Jews in 1948 is an OUTRAGEOUS LIE. Muslim leaders took their people and fled the region because they wanted to come back "when the Jews had been pushed into the sea."
7 Arab armies nevertheless failed to crush the infant nation. Simply put, the Arabs that lost their home deserve their fate-- they took a gamble and lost ( a gamble in which the odds were in their favor, but the Arabs eventually did lose the war). Muslims also spread HORRIFIC LIES about Israel in their propaganda: That Jews use mustard gas on Palestinians (an immoral and disgustingly false accusation), that the Jews spread AIDS by injecting them into Palestinian children, the Jews siphon blood from Palestinians to make bread for passover (blood libels never die in Muslim societies), even the most far-fetched lies of Jewish doctors removing Palestinian childrens' eyes in a research attempt to turn all eye colors blue. A few years ago scores of Palestinians came to al-Manar and Al-Jazeera TV networks and made preposterous claims that Israel had shot 3,000 people of a small village (itwas later found that this town was an Arab town whose total population left during 1948 and never returned) and buried them in ditches and mass row graves.
Israel DID NOT AND DOES NOT engage in extermination techniques as many Muslims claim. To claim that this is what Jews are doing, after all that has been done to them, means that the person saying this has no soul and is immorally repulsive.
SCREW THE WORLD, AND THE SCREW THE UN ISRAEL. WE GOT YOUR BACK AND WE'LL TAKE EM' ALL TOGETHER.

Because Israel stole the land it claims from other nations, and the Allies strong armed the deal.People are starving to death daily because of the things Israel has done. That isn't even getting into the fact that God took the land from the Jews because of their constant disobedience, and ordered them to repent and wait until such time as He should give it back. GOD will give it back, when HE sees fit, not the U.N, I.D.F., E.U. etc. As long as Zion remains without God, there will be no peace for them. It is the will of God.

I both accept and advocate Israel's existence. But your question implies that there is but one side to history here. The Palestinians are a people with a right to statehood as well. Are you suggesting that Israel's actions against the Palestinians are moral so long as they don't decimate them as was done to the Aborigines and American Indians?
Israel-Palestine just so happens to be a unique political and historical situation, so far as I can see. It's gonna take some mighty open minds on not just both, but ALL sides. You are right - it's time for universal acceptance of Israel. BUT, it's also time for universal acceptance of the rights of Palestinians to statehood too.
Everyone on board?

Not all Americans think like that. There are some of us that do feel like everyone and every events in our lives happen for a reason and everyone has a right to co-exist. It depends on the person. Yes, there will always be those who can be racist, stubborn, and close-minded. But that is part of life. Those people are here to teach us NOT to be that way and to become a better person. Without prejudice!

1) The land never belonged to the Palestinians. Jews have lived there continuously for almost four thousand years.
2) The Jews did NOT steal the land. Britain held the mandate and the land was partitioned between Jews and Muslims; this was ratified by the UN. It was the Muslim world who rejected this outright and then attacked Israel. The Jews said yes to partition.
3) To moron who said we should 'stop crying about the Holocaust' - we never even MENTIONED it. YOU DID. I've noticed an odd thing in this section: it is ALWAYS the Muslim answerers who raise the topic of the Holocaust - every damn time.
4) Israel has given land for peace on several occasions - but the Palestinians continued mounting terrorist attacks. Why? They'd been offered all that they say they want!
5) Israel has given more to the Palestinians than their fellow Muslims. Israel gives them fuel, water, electricity; she builds new housing and she opens schools and hospitals. What do Iran and Syria do? They fund and arm Hezbollah and Hamas and they smuggle arms into Gaza and the West Bank. Nice.
6) If this is all and only about Israel - then WHY has the Muslim world been attacking Jews since BEFORE Israel was established? In 1929, in Hevron, the Muslims killed several Jews, just because they were Jews. Again, 1929 was way before Israel.
7) How can we all have a civilised, rational debate about these issues - when the Muslim answerers and several non Muslim answerers keep repeating untruths? You folks can't argue with objective, verifiable facts. The facts are that Jews have always lived in Palestine and that they did not take the land of the Muslims.
Yes, of course the Palestinians need a state - we can all agree on that. But we have to stick to the facts and then take it from there. You can't keep villifying Israel because it's both untrue and unfair.
