is it true "blind faith" as you claim? or that's just an excuse to hide behind the fact that you're scared to death of burning in the Lake of Fire for the rest of the eternity?
what I mean, if we're really moral beings, and we're really concerned about what's right and wrong, and we appreciate our freedom so much, shouldn't you just turn around and ignore such a terrible being completely? Maybe He's just putting you to the test, and that's what He expects you all to do anyway and you're all screwing it here.

yes, hurting people's feeling is part of the fun, but no... just this wouldn't make it.

Avatar_defender - if fear doesn't come into play, why even mention the existence of a Hell, what's the point? maybe it only highlights my point, God is just setting up the whole charade for us to buy and do our best to try and snap out of it.

Because I want to.
Because I have a right to.
Because I have a different view of God than you do.

Take your pick.

And what if His ways are not mans ways? Then of course He wouldn't make sense to someone who doesn't want to see Him as a Holy God, loving yet just.
Are the court systems sadistic tyrants?
They are out there for the good of mankind yet they put people in jail, some states even have death penalties.
Why are you so afraid of God?

The god you are describing is not My God nor the God of the Bible and who said anything about "blind faith"...that is about the stupidest term. The bible never says anything about anyone burning in "hell" for eternity...that is false religious doctrine, we are not moral beings except and in where we have been given a conscience by God to follow laws He sat down to begin with and by abiding by those laws you become free...where as before you are enslaved to sins, urges and behaviors that would condemn you to destruction if it were not for a loving and forgiving Christ. The test has been administered and failed already....If it is my God that you are alluding to that you feel is so sadistic then why is it that every law He established was set forth to alliviate suffering and confusion? I think you need to rethink your thoughts here...Love in Christ, ~J~

It's time for you to grow up and take responsibilty for your life.

It's also time for you to develop a mature spirituality that is capable of discerning who God really is, and also of discerning why he created you, and why he saw fit to make certain rules to govern our existence.

Once you do, you'll realize that God is both just and merciful, and he's not interested in sending anyone who might somehow be "saved" into any "lake of fire" ... even though, from the tone of your posting, a little taste of it might be just what's necessary to straighten out your "act".

I don't know to which god you're referring, but our God is the loving, forgiving, graceful God of the bible. No Christians are 'scared to death of burning'. We have no reason to be scared. We follow God's law because we love Him and want to obey him and do what's right.

When you were growing up, did you obey your parents because you loved them and wanted to do what's right, or were you just pretending that because you were scared of getting a spanking, grounded, or time-out?

According to your logic, the only reason you don't go around robbing 7-11's, raping women, and stabbing people is because you're scared to go to jail and/or get the death penalty? The majority of people follow the laws because it's the right thing to do, not because they're scared of being punished.

I feel so sorry for the mean, ugly people in your life who have warped your beliefs and today, I can only pray God will have mercy on your soul; and that, by His love and grace, maybe we could meet up one day on the other side and worship Him together :)

fear doesnt come into play. When you recieve revelation from God and learn of His love and mercy for yourself there is no fear. Fear is cast out by faith and love.

Why should we turn away from the one person who has the principles that can free us from bondage for Eternity? Why should we turn away from the one who offers us the only chance we have to eternally grow?

It's called America. It's called freedom to worship as we please and not care what anyone thinks. It's in the Constitution I believe. Although I do respect your views I'm just stating my opinion and giving the basis of that opinion.

The God I worship is different than the one that you speak of.

Excellent test. God sets himself up to be so immoral that the only ones who pass the test are those with the courage to reject the tyrant :)
