All of the above suggestions are good, but when you need to relax, pack a picnic and head to the Toronto Islands. The ferry is only a couple of bucks and you can swim nude on Hanlans Point, rent a bike and ride from Ward's Island to Hanlans Point, or even rent a canoe. Take a ride on the ferris wheel at Centreville.
A one day trip to Niagara Falls is well worth it.
Buy a TTC day pass and visit different neighbourhoods in Toronto - Kensington Market, Little India, The Beach, Scarborough Bluffs.
The Distillery District usually has free live music and a market on weekends. You never know what you will find going on at Harbourfront, but it often has quite good live music.
Buy cheap seats in the bleachers to a Blue Jays game and swill beer in the sun.
Climb over the hookers and crack heads to visit the greenhouse in Allen Gardens - a jewel in downtown Toronto.

First would be it's landmark, the CN Tower. The tallest free standing building on earth. With fantastic views and a glass floor.
Then I would suggest Ontario Place, a lovely day out with a few rides and plenty of exhibitions and such to see.
A Blue Jays baseball game is always fun, quite cheap in the nose bleeds section but just as enjoyable from way up high.
There is roughly a 3 hour drive south if you want to visit Niagara Falls.
Also in Toronto is the Eaton Centre which is a pretty big shopping centre.
Paramount Canada's Wonderland- awesome theme park with loads of rollercoasters and rides.

I did a red London bus (open top) tour and that included a boat trip around the islands too - was really good. If you're into shopping there is the Eaton Centre - a HUGE shopping centre. You've got to up up the CN Tower (although it's not cheap). You could go to a show. You could see if there is a baseball match on at the stadium (next to the Tower). You could see if there is something on at the Concert Hall. There are lots of great restaurants and hopefully you'll have great weather (they are currently having a heatwave...). If you want to go further afield how about a trip to Niagara Falls? I've just been to Toronto (but only into the centre for one day) and loved it!

Visit the Eaton Centre and Casa Loma. Walk the Danforth, catch a Toronto FC game, visit the Ontario Science Centre (if you're into that sort of thing), watch a musical (3rd largest English language theatre scene in the world), visit the Brass Rail (if you're so inclined).

All the above are great suggestions even the Allan Gardens ( It was one of my fave spots in school) but there also is the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) in TO. If you are into war planes the Canadian Warbird Heritage museum in Hamilton is a good one to visit. Old Fort York if you are into that sort of thing too.
