One extreme is a male chauvinist, the opposite is a male house wife.

So were did the men go? What happened to a balanced male life, with leadership and responsibilities?

Thank God for that

Hey now, my husband is neither extreme, he's just a good guy trying hard to raise two little girls and be a loving husband to me. He's no chauvinist, he's told me many times how much he admires me for how strong I am to him (I think the same about him actually, he's my tower of strength and safety). Neither is he a "male housewife", and while he can fold fitted sheets with the best of them he is never "told" to do it, he's just the kind of guy who pitches in and helps so we can all go play.

So they're here, they exist, I know many men who fit this bill.

The men are all still here. About 50% of every human born. Times change. The pendulum swings out and things get extreme for awhile. The male chauvanist had to change. Feminists went over board. Male hating is so last month. It will settle down...good loving men will rise and love and appreciate good loving women again....UNTIL someone else sees injustice, stupidity or even something good they don't like. Its like everyone and everything. There are good ones and bad ones. And even bad ones will improve if they want to. Just be he best man or woman you can be. There is a good age coming! Love will steer the stars!

hey Aphroditeofknid, GREAT answer. I'm looking to hire an artist, by the way, and will gladly do your dishes.

After I get off work, and pouring concrete with the guys, of course.

Meh! How is it any of your business?! I am almost a male housewife and it is simply what I like to do. How is it you are the one to judge what appropriate male behaiviour is? Why follow stupid stereotypes when something else would make one happy?

It died when feminism was born. You either a) can resist feminism by beign a chauvinist, or b) accept feminism by being metrosexual.

Actually, i for one am beginning to see the faint, vague start of a male culture of responsibility & leadership returning.

The problem seems to be yours, not mine. I am perfectly happy with my situation. My wife is also my best friend. Has for over forty years now.

The real question should be: "Why do so many women want to be men, and why are so many men willing to go along with it?"

Does balanced mean keeping to the biblical role for men and set for woman? Women arn't keeping their mouths shut and staying barefoot and pregnant, and some men arn't the domineering pricks they used to be.

Sorry, but I have not seen any male housewives lately.

If you see one, let me know. I am in the need of a caring, compassionate dishwasher husband who can scrub off chicken curry from ceramic plates.
