Yo don't "become" fearless unless you suddenly lose the value of your life.

Rather, you become BRAVE, a brave person has fear, but does the task regardless, this means overcoming your fear.

My best suggestion is don't push yourself over 'thresholds'. Don't say 'There's no reason to be afraid' because there just might be. If your instinct tells you something is wrong don't get on! If you want to set a goal for yourself fine, but don't set it in stone if you're too nervous. If you blast through your threshold, it'll be worse the next time. I do the Parelli Natural Horsemanship program and that coaching is where I've gotten ALL of my confidence. The entire basis of that program is safety and confidence. I would highly recommend looking into the program for your own and your horses benefit. Also the book 'Move Closer, Stay Longer' by Dr. Stephanie Burns is a great help. There's no way to become 'fearless' until you know how to react to your horse in EVERY situation and to recognize when things start to go wrong. Also, you CAN'T be afraid to get off - people who stay on no matter what often get hurt or killed. Know what to do and when to do it. Again Parelli is a huge help here. Check out their website - that's my best advice to you. Good Luck!!!

Actually, in reality there's no such thing as fearless. A person who seems to have no fear is either very stupid or just so p1ssed off at something he doesn't think about the dangers or consequences of his actions for a moment. By p1ssed off, I mean being mad or angry to the point of ignoring all other considerations. For example, being mad that someone is threatening your family can lead to acts of bravery while defending loved ones, being angry for feeling helpless could lead one to run into a burning building and save a stranger or being angry at the existence of injustice could lead to testifying against dangerous criminals in court despite d3ath threats. So to become fearless as you want to be, you either do something stupid or you find a cause you are passionate about and fight for it.

fearlessness died with the way of the warrior. the only way to acheive it now is to go insane.

You just do what you're afraid to do. You have to put your fears to the side concentrating on the task at hand.

To overcome personal fear one must believe in themself. Courage stems from confidence in one's self or their beliefs. Find a way to boost your self-confidence and/or faith and invest in that completely.
