other faiths burning in hell?
I keep seeing questions about ONLY Christians will be in heaven, those that did not accept Jesus will be burning in hell.
It is quite disturbing that Christians entertain such an evil thought that NON BELIEVERS in their faith will deserve such a punishment.
Do they suffer from a mental disorder?

by the way THERE IS NOT SUCH A THING AS ACCEPTING JESUS, people simply hold a different belief.
You cannot reject something you do not believe in. IT IS JUST A BELIEF. So a punishment for non belief is not only immoral, but completely EVIL.

Christianity is basically about worshiping a dead man nailed to a cross and getting into heaven. If you don't like this you get roasted. I pity their ignorance and have tried to help them but they won't listen.

Don't worry there probably is no such thing as heaven or hell.
I believe earth is the only heaven & we need to make it as peaceful & a loving experiance as possible.
As we speak people are going through man made hell like war. I think heaven, hell & all religon is a joke. If there was any sense to it how do you explain the holy wars of the past & the ones that are going on right now.
I know alot of people out there will disagree with me on this one. But I choose to think not follow.
Equal peace, love & unity

It is a way to convert others. It is threatening and evokes a misguided sense of compassion at the same time:
The compassion part:
a. I like Johnny. He is a good person and I do not want to see him hurt. Convert Johnny to my religion or he will burn for eternity.
The hatred part:
b. I don't like Johnny. He is an Atheist/Buddhist/Muslim/not a true christian, and he will burn for eternity as punishment from my righteous god.
It doesn't make sense to believe in hell, period. But I take this further and extend my non-belief to the supernatural. When people believe in hell is not a mental disorder, but a sign of gullibility. Hell was (and still is) a way to increase congregations (support=money donations to the faith) and to play around with the emotions of its followers.
How can anyone believe their deity is so evil as to singe the skin off of someone for having a different view?

Im a Christian and by no means would it give me satisfaction to see someone burn in hell. Thats not for me to decide who burns in hell and who doesnt. Im sorry you have been given a bad impression and anger towards that part of our community. There are looney people out there. Even people that call them selves christians can be in the looney group as well!

Been a Christian 60 years and have met very very few Christians that enjoy the thought of people burning in Hell, and those who do feel that way are not following Christian teaching. Most Christians cry out to God that people will turn away from evil before it is too late.

We don't enjoy the thought.
We would much prefer that everybody be in heaven.
And the concept of people of other faiths burning in hell is not exclusive to Christians.
But, as you say, it is our belief. That is why we try so hard to get everybody with us.
We are no more or less mentally disturbed than those who would wish us to simply cease to exist when we pass on.

Someone saying that Jesus is the only way to Heaven, and all other ways end in destruction, doesn't necessarily mean they are 'enjoying' it, any more than a mother telling her toddler to stay away from the cars on the road in case he gets run over is enjoying saying it to her son.

Yeah and imagine the look on their faces when they finally enter Heaven and find Muslims, Jews, Pagans, atheists etc. in there.
I'm a Muslim and I firmly beleive that Heaven will be a variety of people of all faiths or those who have no faith at all (but are still good persons).
Now you just imagine that look on their faces ... ~giggles~

It is just an other scare tactic to keep people in the faith. Most religion "punish" those that start thinking for them self and discover the fallacy of gods.

Romans 1
19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
