My step-mother was a terrible alcoholic, she was refused by many churches because of it. But you know what, as miserable as I was in her presence, when she died, I then knew her purpose in my life. Sometimes it takes people of that extreme for us to open our eyes. Do I think she went to hell, absolutely not. I would even go so far as to say she is more of a saint than I am, what have I shown someone of that magnitude. My dad came from a long line of terrible alcoholics as well. He stopped drinking because of her, I never picked up the habit (not to say I never drank), and the same with my sister. We were spared because of her, she broke the cycle. Even the worst person we can imagine might look "evil" in our eyes but dont they really teach us the extreme of what we dont want to be? Maybe they are the really the blessings in disguise.

God does not control evil, but he said we shall suffer persecution and he will help us to scale through. Evil is a matter of choice, because God has given us to choose from evil and good

My Da's a dumbass and he keeps screwing up, I found out from an early age that if I do the opposite to what he does everything will work out. The man was an unintentional inspiration, but I wouldn't thank him for it. Not all evil results in good outcomes, it is generally the opposite. WWI led to WWII. The Holy Crusaders were rewarded instead of punished. Life's generally unfair, it's the individual that makes things better for the individual.

You have gained a great insight. It was originally discovered by Joseph the son of Jacob who, after suffering a series of catastrophic blows, became vice regent of Egypt under Pharaoh. This chain of misery began because of the hatred and jealousy of his brothers. Yet, when they came to Egypt seeking food during a famine, Joseph embraced them. "You meant it for evil. But God meant it for good," he said. You have a Joseph attitude. Never lose it. God can turn every situation into a positive. When life craps on you, fertilize the flowers!

I think all people are pure, and then damaged. She was probably an alcoholic because her mom was, or her mom didn't love her, or she didn't had a dad, or she had both, but they decided to mistreat her, because they themselves didn't know any better. Alcohol is a way to take pain better. Look at any alcoholic. They hurt, and they need a drug. She isn't evil, she was just part of a chain of events.

Cool....but in many interpretations of this world...the flesh belongs in the world controlled by Satan...there is a battle between doing right and doing wrong no matter how you want to identify it....the view that right and wrong is only in the mind of the person is wrong. Her life was not without purpose

Jesus said " May thy will be done on earth as it is done in heaven"
It means that God's will is not done in this world.
Buddha saw only suffering in this world.
Even in all pleasures.
Buddha says "No one can save you. Only YOU have to save yourself. "
You have seen the truth about pleasure in your own life , without indulging in it. And the truth has saved you.
Jesus has also said : "Follow he truth and the truth shall make you free".
