Im going to America next week and I was wondering what i could do to use an english hair straightener there...? And my phone charger too :P! thanks...

220 down to 110...you need to step up our voltage so a doubler would work. You'll need to find it BEFORE you Leave.

devices with switching power supplies - some types of chargers, laptop, etc. will run from any voltage between 100 to 240. check your device label.

some devices have a 110-220 switch.

some devices are single voltage only and require a step up transformer. I suspect they aren't cheap and would be bulky and heavy for a hair straightener to handle its power requirement. It may be better (economic and on the back) to by a new straightener in the US.

You'll need a power adapter so the plug will fit our electrical outlets. Look on-line at a store called "The Sharper Image." They have all that kind of stuff. I'm sure other places have them to.
