Its great that you are drinking water!!
Everyone should drink 2 litres a day which is about 6 -8 glasses. If the weather is hot then more is good because it keeps you hydrated.
If you are are overweight then you will need to drink more than that each and every day.
Our bodies are made up of 70% water so we need to make sure we don't dehydate, as this leads to bad skin, water retention and also weight gain in some of us. It also cleanses the system.
Its easy to come by - Its cheap - so there is no reason for anyone not to drink water.
Best wishes

While 8-12 glasses of water is great for the average person, (but that does include tea, juice, anything with water in...!)
The side effects of drinking too little water are an excess build-up of certain chemicals. Creatine can leave behind some build-up that overtime, becomes a bit hard to pass. Putting such a strain on the body is also self-defeating.
Drinking water to excess leads to water intoxication, referred to as hyponatremia. As you consume water, blood plasma increases and dilutes the salt content of the blood. While this is happening, you lose more salt by sweating. As a result of that the amount of salt available to the body tissues decreases and over time, the loss interferes with brain, heart and muscle functions.
How much are you drinking...I hate scare mongering..But its something to be aware of...You can get addicted to literally anything...Including drinking water...BE sensible miss!!!

You should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, and it is possible to drink too much water. If you drink too much water, eventually the kidneys will not be able to work fast enough to remove sufficient amounts from the body, so the blood becomes more dilute with low salt concentrations.

8-12 eight ounce glasses a day is a common recommended intake. but you need more water if the weather is exceptionally hot or dry.
about drinking too much water, it can lead to a condition known as water intoxication and to a related problem resulting from the dilution of sodium in the body, hyponatremia. Water intoxication is most commonly seen in infants under six months of age and sometimes in athletes. A baby can get water intoxication as a result of drinking several bottles of water a day or from drinking infant formula that has been diluted too much. Athletes can also suffer from water intoxication. Athletes sweat heavily, losing both water and electrolytes.
When too much water enters the body's cells, the tissues swell with the excess fluid. Your cells maintain a specific concentration gradient, so excess water outside the cells (the serum) draws sodium from within the cells out into the serum in an attempt to re-establish the necessary concentration. As more water accumulates, the serum sodium concentration drops -- a condition known as hyponatremia. The other way cells try to regain the electrolyte balance is for water outside the cells to rush into the cells via osmosis. The movement of water across a semipermeable membrane from higher to lower concentration is called osmosis. Although electrolytes are more concentrated inside the cells than outside, the water outside the cells is 'more concentrated' or 'less dilute' since it contains fewer electrolytes. Both electrolytes and water move across the cell membrane in an effort to balance concentration. Theoretically, cells could swell to the point of bursting.
From the cell's point of view, water intoxication produces the same effects as would result from drowning in fresh water. Electrolyte imbalance and tissue swelling can cause an irregular heartbeat, allow fluid to enter the lungs, and may cause fluttering eyelids. Swelling puts pressure on the brain and nerves, which can cause behaviors resembling alcohol intoxication. Swelling of brain tissues can cause seizures, coma and ultimately death unless water intake is restricted and a hypertonic saline (salt) solution is administered. If treatment is given before tissue swelling causes too much cellular damage, then a complete recovery can be expected within a few days.
And the thing about drinking water is not about how much you drink but rather how fast you drink it. You are unlikely to suffer from water intoxication, even if you drink a lot of water, as long as you drink over time as opposed to intaking an enormous volume at one time.

Medical guidelines say you should drink at least one and a half litres of water every day. This should increase if you are taking exercise, experiencing high temperatures or travelling by plane.
It is possible to drink too much water but the amount you would need to drink is vast and the speed at which you would have to consume it is high - your body can rid itself of water quite quickly!

2L /day is a good goal
You can only drink too much if your stomach fills with water and it overflows up your oesophagus, down your trachea to your lungs. It is possible to drown but it VERY difficult to get this far without vomiting
The water may also dilute the Na+ in your body resulting in hyponatraemia which can be lethal.
I seriously doubt you are drinking too much though.

I drink two litres a day, and lots of fruit tea.
I also only drink tap water as bottled water tends to have all sorts of chemicals in it
