People who want to be in control have invented such worship

Because He knows that it is a great pleasure to us to worship Him when we have a personal relationship with Him and when we understand His plan better. : )

No, God doesn't want us to worship Him. He wants us to believe in Him first, to seek to be holy and righteous, and He wants us to WANT to worship Him...which we do once we understand.
