I believe you are referring to Friedreich ataxia. This a rare genetic disorder that affects the nervous system. It's an abnormality of sensory and motor nerve conduction and primarily involves the spinal cord. The main symptoms include progressive ataxia (uncoordinated movement of the limbs), dysarthria (difficulty speaking), nystagmus (jerky movement of the eye muscles), a decrease in reflexes, disease of the heart muscle and scoliosis. The symptoms start in middle childhood and most are wheelchair bound by 43-46 years of age. Some of those affected may live into their 70s provided there are no complicaitons from heart disease or diabetes. So far, there's no proven therapy to reverse or lessen the neurological changes.

Are you by any chance refering to Friedrich's Ataxia? You are born with that, it's a genetic degenerative neurological disorder. I don't know how you were diagnosed with it, but I would have to assume it was by a neurologist. There are several places that might be of some assistance to you if this is your diagnosis. It lists several organizations that might be able to help you with things.

I'm sorry, I don't know much about your disorder beyond the basic info.

Get a second and third and fourth opinion! In the meantime, rub the middle finger of your left hand; check for pain and tiny crystals in there, anywhere and rub and massage them... Then check any other points in your fingers that might hurt such as the one in the middle of the middle finger of the right hand and to them as well. Go to alternative care givers! Investigate! for what would be best for you! And last but not least, drink 8 glasses of fresh water daily... Oxygenated if possible!
