This is round three of being disrespected by my co-worker. I'm a bartender, he's a cook. He tells customers things that he shouldn't and starts fights w/them. He gets upset when you bring a food check to him at 1 minute til the kitchen closes and will totally disrespect you in front of customers. I have once gone to the boss and he didn't do anything because the cook does him a favor by growing his w**d for him. I called the cook to ask him what his problem w/ me is and all he can do is be horrifically rude . No need to go into detail. Should I try calling the cook tomorrow when he is sober (HAH) or should I say something to the boss man again?

Sounds like you are being used!

These guys have a cosy deal cooked (haha) up between them, and you are in the middle.

Start looking for another position, you do not owe these guys the loyalty of staying where you are disrespected and treated badly simply for doing your job!

If finding another job is not a possibility, let your boss and the cook know that from now on, they'll have to work these issues out between themselves. If the cook says anything to you, tell him to take it up with the boss.

If he is rude to you, ask him to speak louder so the customers can hear, as you are hoping for a nice big lump sum from the law suit for harrassment you're going to hand him.

But beware ~ once you stop playing their game, the boss might look for an excuse to get rid of you and find a more willing victim, so you might be out of a job anyway. Best to take things in your own hands and find something else.

Best wishes and good luck :-)

poor you. hope you get something from people's answers.

Is it possible to get another job?

If not, tell you boss again. Whether the cook is growing weed for him is not relevant to the way he is treating YOU.

Maybe think of an ultimatum tell the boss: I'll quit, I'll tell the police about the drugs, I'll work really slowly, I will shout back, I will record what the cook says to me so you can hear how he treats me, I will tell the authorities that you hire a drunk to cook (health and safety regulations are violated).......

Get a witness.

You should tell your boss right after it happens. Maybe if your boss witnessed this somehow or if a customer complained, your boss would probably do something

oh and about the drug thing, call the police

Since you know about the stuff going on behind the scenes, it is doubtful anything you do will result in the cops being called. Why don't you kick his butt? I mean kick it really good so he has to miss work for a couple of days.

Set the fool on fire then laugh and say "HaHa sucker who's up in smoke now?" There is no reason for the cook to be talking to you customers anyway. Cooks are never sober either

You should do neither of those things, nor should you involve the police. Who grows what for whom is none of your concern. What you should do is stand up for yourself. If he is rude to you, be rude right back. He only treats you this way because you let him get away with it. Fight back!

I would want to play all sorts of horrible tricks on him. Spit in his tea, order 600 pizza deliveries to his house, make up a dart board of him and throw things at it. Let your imagination go crazy..... dog turd in his pocket, frame him and call the environmental health...anything.
IIt's completely immature but it'll make you feel better while you look for another job.

Do not put up with this any longer. Start looking around for another place to work.

I'd go over the boss's head & tell about the drug issue.
