With all the recalls of poisoned dog food, no one is going to feel comfortable recommending commercial treats.

My favorite treat to feed a dog (and I eat them too) is bacon-wrapped chicken livers. You cut raw chicken livers into bite-sized portions, wrap each piece in a raw half-slice of bacon, and skewer each little kabob with a toothpick. Broil 2 inches from the heat source on a grill rack so the grease can drip away for five minutes, turn them over and grill an additional five minutes or until done.

You can give your doggie little bits of one of these treats for an entire afternoon--the dog will love only you!

A well-trained dog makes everyone happy, including his owner. Take a little time training him, and you'll never regret it; you'll always have an obedient dog by your side. Find more https://tinyurl.im/P4sU8

By their nature, dogs are pack animals with a well-defined social order. Through basic training, you need to consistently make sure your puppy understands that you are the leader, not him. So in teaching him the basic rules, you take on the role of pack leader.

To fit into the family circle, your dog must be taught to recognize his name and such commands as come, heel, lie down and sit.

The best treats are the fresh ones. Cut up pieces of chicken or steak, tiny cubes of cheese, a bit of yogurt, a bit of cottage cheese. Dogs love protein and fat.

You should hold back on one or two of the treats and use them as very special treats for training. If you limit your treats to 10% of his caloric content and cut back 10% on his regular food, he won't be prone to getting fat.

I would avoid the peanut butter as it has too much sugar. I would also avoid the commercial treats as they contain too much of many things and are simply unnecessary.

Some dogs eat baby carrots (also full of sugar) and don't digest them. You can grate up a bit and add it to his food though.

Milk bones are good. Peanut butter and other dog treats are bad for their teeth.

Little milkbones are tasty and healthy.

Dogs always love peanut butter.

Once in a very long while you can give her little pieces of hotdog.
