I'm in the process of enlisting as an MP and It's not that I'm afraid of being sent to Iraq because if it ever came down to that, I would be proud to serve my country and I would be proud to fight along side my two brothers who are currently marines in Fallujah! Just wondering what my chances would be of being sent off to Iraq after basic and AIT because I would like to finish college. Being an MP, does that mean they're automatically going after basic and AIT ?

you will go man but stability in National Guard it still better then Active or Reserve and MPS arnt always hated but often times are.

Be sure its what you want though MPs are being used to alot of the same stuf the Infantry is in Iraq

Statistically very small; if you analyze it from a statistical point of view - the number of troops that have served in A'stan or Iraq over the number of casualties - its safer than some US Cities. Being wounded is a higher chance than US cities but still slim.

Dude, why do you want to be an MP?

The most worthless, scum-sucking, bunch of low-lifes you can imagine. All they do is gloat about how much trouble they can get their fellow soldiers, marines, and sailors in.

In any case, your chances are pretty good of going. But you won't be arresting your fellow American soldiers for drunk and disorderly behavior, you will be patrolling in a humvee, hoping to hell that you don't hit an IED.

First, it doesn't matter what you enlist as, my cousin enlisted as a mechanic and ended up in regular infantry! Second with the way things are going, odds are pretty good of ending up in the middle east. good Luck to ya either way!

It depends entirely on your unit and not at all on your MOS. If your unit comes, you'll probably come with it.
