I have 2 adult male guinea pigs and 1 baby male guinea pig. Ever since I got a new one, the 2 adult guinea pigs have been fighting and haven't been getting along. So now, I have 1 adult guinea pig sitting alone in one cage while the other 2 are together.

Do not listen to RabbyT, I had four males at one time. The trick is to introduce them on neutral ground. Maybe bathe them together, or take them on a car ride.

Are you sure the new pig isn't a female?

first of all, DON'T FEED IT CHOCOLATE like snickers. You can tell if a guinea pig is sick if -they have a wet or runny nose -their poop is moist and mushy -they shake or shiver -there is 'gunk' in/on their eyes -it sheds a lot I don't think you need to ask anything. You should buy the following items -Good food for GUINEA PIGS -Cage -Bedding -Food bowl and water thing -Chews -Hideout(get them a little igloo looking thing) -Some ferret toys and/or guinea pig toys -Treats Everything might cost about $108 including the cost of the guinea pig which adds about 30 bucks. Most of the time petstores don't know or show the age of the pig, but if you know what age it is, get it as young as it can be so you can bond with it longer. You should set up the cage somewhere not in direct sunlight and put it somewhere where a lot of people pass around, but not near the front door. You should pet it a little and talk to it a little and do this about three times for about 2 days. I can't help you with making it feel welcome though. You can tell if it's happy if it purs when you pet it. You can tell it's a good pur if the body is moving a litte when purring and that they arent trying to run away when you are touching them. You can tell it's doing well when it is a bit active(it might not be that active on the first day and second, it might be still in it's hideout, but it's okay with that) You can keep your pig warm by turing on the heat! You should keep it away from larger animals, wires, and bad foods for it.

Unless blood was drawn there was no need to seperate them, when you first got the guinea pigs they would have worked out who was boss. Sometimes the guinea pig that is not boss challenges the other guinea pig and they have to work out the hierarchy again.

I suggest that you re-introduce them all, try it on a couch. This site should help:

http://www.cavyspirit.com/sociallife.htm#Introductions

If once you introduce them together there is teeth chattering with serious fighting seperate them by chucking a tea towel over one of their heads. You can then try the "Piggies who bathe together stay together". Basically what it is is you wash them together with small animal shampoo or washing up liquid, guinea pigs hate being washed and often become very scared. Take them all out and dry them with a towel and/or a hair dryer. Repeat the introductions and hopefully the bathroom would have scared them into being friends. Then clean out the cage extremely well with some water and vinegar to get rid of any scents. The instructions in detail are on the site I gave you, you just have to scroll down a fair way.

Addition:
Do NOT listen to Rabbyt. She is SO wrong, guinea pigs are not like hamsters and males can get along fantastically. They will NOT kill each other, it depends on how well or not you introduce them. If you introduce them following the instructions that I gave you they should be fine.

Good Luck!!

Yes its sad to see them like this. I put my two male guinea pigs together and it was war... But what I had to do was work carefully with them. I suggest you keep two males separated. I had a male and a female together in the same cage for 2 years and they did fine, had two babies. But the female died and the male was more than sad. People say Guinea pigs are stupid critters but I disagree because I felt pain and seen it in his eyes. Well I thought I would buy a male for him to be with but that was a big mistake. I brought the new male home and tested it buy putting them into the same cage together but it was a very bad idea because it got to the point were the already own guinea pig was bleeding from the new Guinea pig. What I did was kept flicking his nose hard enough to get the point across that he shouldn't do that. Well he kept doing it and I ended up putting the new Guinea pig in a box. Yes, it was very nasty and I ended up buying another cage. Well soon before I knew it my older Guinea pig began to get skinny and to the point were he wouldn't even eat lettuce out of my hand and then he died. I would not suggest you put to Guinea pigs together. I will say that once I had two females together and they got along fine but males I think they are trying to say "Hey this is my place, your not welcome here"

I don't know about guinea pigs, but rats will only fight for a very short time usually not physically, once they establish the alpha rat they leave eachother alone. I am guessing guinea pigs are different.

they will get over it in time, but at the moment it is important that you don't let them fight too much. introduce them in a large area at small intervals at a time. Make sure the new pig ISN'T a girl!

Sometimes it can be difficult to introduce a baby animal to mature males. watch he doesn't get raped, and i am not joking!! Male guinea pigs are very reproduction orientated!

You don't pair them together- they will fight till they kill each other. I have two hamsters and they each have their own cage or they'd kill each other.

If they got along before the new one, sounds like you got to put the new one on it's own OR just keep it how you have it now.

My other advice would be to stop buying guinea pigs because males don't like new friends in their cage- they will fight for the most part, they have to be brought up together or they'll fight.

Release them all in a field with birds of prey visible in the sky.
Rodents are a part of the food chain and birds of prey depend on them for sustinence and nutrition. These rodent animals are not suitable for pets. Don't you realize that rodents are dangerous a pest.Unlike dogs or gold fish which are more suitable as pets..

They don't need to be together. Put them where they can see each other and play with them separately
